From what I understand the SEC is picking up top JUCO DT's at about $60k a pop. Very frustrating. I work with an attorney who was a sports agent up till about 3 years ago. He's told me countless stories of money exchanges at UT & even named players. When Kiffin was there, they (agents & boosters) had pretty much free unrestricted access to the players. Now you know why we're having a difficult time picking up Elite JUCO DT's.

Yeah man I have said it from the very beginning. Everyone up in arms about getting elite JUCO DT's.....it just is not that simple. At some point it no longer is coincidence, whether Golden is in charge or not. I think we are going to start making some headway in that area but it's still a monumental task.

This is interesting. LSU and Bama obviously have plenty of DL talent. But go look at the DL talent at schools like Miss St, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and even Vandy. Its crazy. That's what separates the SEC from everyone else. Miami's skill talent is right there with anybody, but the DL talent is a notch below the SEC........and FSU too, I guess...

What do you mean by under wraps, AU? You just mean that his name hasn't been brought up in a while? I thought was committed and signed to UT, no?

Also, we gotta get Hardison to at least visit. Pull one of these guys and I'm creaming everywhere!

That's the top 8 SEC schools are playing defense and recruit defense. LSU Offense looked Average. Florida's offense is Terrible with a capital T. South Carolina without Lattimore looked very average. But the SEC schools are playing Defense so they win the football games. Our offense was doing extremely well but where were we defensively. If you have a Defense and average offense you win 10+ games

Hope I'm wrong, but no. I don't think the staff wants to bring in a Darius Smith type talent just to bring in a body. We have bodies so if we miss out on the top tier JUCO talent, there isn't much need.

All depends on the names on our board though since this staff seems to find guys outta the woodwerks. DL is their priority too though so we just gotta wait it out.
 
I wasn't asking about JuCo reaches just throw in the roster like Darius Smith.

I was asking because Papii mentioned Ben Bradley and Hardison. I was hoping there was something more to that than just blind hope.
