It's OFFICIAL: We're at SLS FOREVER.

Why can't we play both bama and LSU? It's two different seasons.

Cant believe we are stuck at SLS. Worst athletic department in the country

Constructive eviction is a way to terminate that lease. That **** hole is not fit for anything more than a monster truck show. I think the NFL has made that clear.

Golden is gone end of season 2015, so our new coach - such as Greg, or Butch - would have two years . . . yeah. That's all THEY need.

"### UM has been approached about opening the football season against Alabama in 2017 in Atlanta or LSU in 2018 in Arlington, Tx. UM will consider playing in one but not both."

anyone. anytime. anywhere.

What a joke.

I wouldn't be opposed to playing both but how about something slightly more "neutral"? LSU in Atlanta would make more sense. Playing in Texas really isn't the potential recruiting boost for us as it is for them. Plus that's a lot of "gas money" to get Genron all the way to Arlington to stand on their sideline.

Meh on the stadium. All I know is that A LOT of Canes fans just stopped giving any ****s about futbol in Miami.

For the stadium I find it ridiculous that someone like Beckham can walk in and get the wheels turning for a stadium. Why couldn't the university? Why wait on someone else to build a stadium rather than taking the initiative? You want a 45k stadium why wait for someone else, go out and get it done and figure a way out if SLS. I find that to be the most frustrating part.

As as for scheduling both bama and LSU, anyone anywhere anytime.

Program is a shadow of its former self.

I actually like Blake James but the answer to your question is that we don't have and haven't had an AD with the cache to spearhead such a project on the fundraising front independent of the university president signing off on it from its inception. I'm not seeing any movement from non-athletic alumni beyond the Schwartzs to do anything major facility-wise. It speaks volumes on the issue and Blake James' ability/interest to spearhead any movement from our hundreds of millionaire former athlete alumni that the biggest rumbling on the matter was Alonzo Highsmith on Twitter.

I'm cool with anybody, anytime, anywhere but how about this with these $EC clowns and their aversion to play home and homes or legitimately "neutral" site games- offer to play them at a "neutral" site and the winner gets a rematch at home? Go public with the offer too. At minimum you'd shame them when they all pull a Foley.

We are a joke... Oh and 18 more years at the dump. Hopefully Donna retires or drops dead soon and AG is relieved of his duties

The stadium news really sucks. It makes me sick to my stomach what this program has come to. Much like everyone who has played at No Life Stadium, we will rot there.

This is the icing on the cake:

### Representation for former UM and Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma reached out to the Dolphins, but Miami showed no interest after also passing on two other Canes linebackers in March: Jon Beason (Giants) and Darryl Sharpton (Redskins).

Stephen Ross and Jeffrey Loria can both go EAT A ******* ****.

These ******** need to be kicked out of this God forsaken state.

They are both a couple of carpetbagging mother****ing *****.

We won't be stuck there. The fact that we seriously explored it this time is encouraging, and a blow to the goofs who insist the stadium topic is overblown and without option for 18+ seasons.

Something and someone else will develop, with the next decade if not sooner. Ross will be either out of the picture or into his 80s and not as ornery.

More than anything, it simply makes too much sense. This stadium is so inept not everyone in position of influence will be content to ignore it. I love big picture logic, overwhelming short term conventional wisdom. As soon as Ben Hogan golf clubs are in production again, which was already announced a few weeks ago, I win bets from two guys who insisted the brand was gone like dinosaurs. Of course, actually collecting may be another matter...

Well in 2017 our current non conference games are at Arkansas St and home vs Toledo. In 2018 we are at Toledo AND at Rutgers.
So I don't see a way we play a non-home game in 2018 out of conference. If 3/4 non-conference games were on the road, that would be really bad because it would mean only 5 home games! In other words, unless the Rutgers game in 2018 turns into a home game, and the one in 2019 is away, there is no way we play LSU in Texas.
So lets hope we accept the invitation to play Alabama in 2017 as that would really be a great game to play, and is our only real option.

As for the stadium situation, I think 40k seats isn't big enough for us anyway. I think we need a 60k seat stadium and preferably on campus ( I guess next to Mahoney-Pearson), but the next best location has to be Tropical Park, which has enough space. The thing is, a stadium on campus makes more sense financially because we already own most of the land it would require, and you could use it for classrooms/whatever else could go in it.

The stadium issue has been around for 25+ years. The last 10 years at the OB proved that we are just fine with playing in a sub-standard stadium. As much as I loved the OB and it's character, they (collectively between City of Miami and UM) let that place go to crap. It became a safety hazard. I just don't see this stadium thing going anywhere any time soon. We simply have to make the best of it.

As for the "why don't we don't build the stadium with booster, etc." crowd, I would ask, who in the world is going to give $300-$400 million to build a stadium for 6-7 games per season, 40,000 fans per game? Just doesn't make business sense. Sure, you can use it for other things, but there are so many of those already in South Florida, just doesn't seem feasible.

Don't we play Notre Dame in 17? I just don't know if it counts toward the ACC 8 game schedule or a non-conference game. Either way, that could be the reason we say no to 17.
