It seems UM’s offense will stay wide-open, vertical, dynamic and spread…

Diaz said the same thing then hired enos. I don't doubt it will happen and that's not what he wants. Just wouldn't take that as a guarantee.
And then fired him and brought in the guy to run the offense he actually wanted in the first place. Kind of telling re: Manny's downfall. He went against his own plan/instincts for whatever reasons. Not the only time.

Manny said he wanted to run a multiple offense and that's exactly what he brought in. he said that was the offense that gave him the most trouble. it wasn't until after that offense failed he brought the spread. pressure from the fanbase brought in the spread offense, really.

It’s been talked about a ton in here, but the days of teams needing to be in a pro style or double tight set to run the ball are gone

Oklahoma under Riley is a great example of how to run the ball out of non-heavy sets

Mario is a smart dude, I don’t expect him to be stubborn on the OC or offensive philosophies

Agreed but I think this is as much about personnel as play calling. When we inserted a fullback/h-back into the lineup Knighton gained the yard. When we tried to run power out of a 3-4WR alignment (Mallory is more WR than TE when it comes to blocking), we lacked the numbers and were stopped.
I would keep an FB or HB on the rooster just for short yardage situations. After all, that is probably 2-5 plays per game and they are all very, very important plays. Forget trying to fool anyone in short yardage with personnel. If we want deception, use the big lineup and then sneak someone out for a pass like we did with Knighton against UVA
I love Knighton, but would love to see what we could do one day with someone like Thad as our feature back.

Yes, but Mandy didn’t know any better. Enos was thought by many to be a good hire, at the time. As the season wore on it was clear Enos‘ reputation benefited by his attachment to Alabama and the Tide’s success, rather than the other way around.

Great point!! Also I remember how happy the fanbase was over this move and Enos ran an offense that we didn't want
