it is what it is..

I don’t understand what happened. Posters said this team was good enough to beat Georgia.
Considering Ward had 190 yards, 3TD and put up 31 points at half time against the "#4 pass D in the country" we might well have beaten Georgia.

Cristobal / Dawson wanted a look at Williams. They should have put Ward back in at the start of the 4Q if they actually wanted to win that game.

He does by MANY in here.
I'm hoping not from you also.
I agree 100%...we are stuck with this for awhile.
He doesn’t get a pass from me. He’s done nothing but fail from the moment he got here. Now, his one “advantage” - recruiting is basically nullified.

I think some people dont want to continuously post the same “Mario sucks” over and over because there’s plenty of people that already do that.

Miami lost three games this season by a combined grand total of TEN POINTS. Let that little nugget sink in.

In other words, the Canes were exactly 3 plays away from being undefeated. And SHOULD HAVE been.

And that (along with missing out on the ACC championship and the CFB playoff) is why it’s really, really hard to view the season as a success.

No one wants to post Mario Sucks. Mario's coaching brings it out. Add in super slurping, the site selling out, self-interested posters selling us bias Mario-only bs... It leads to the pushback and antics.

In July if many of us heard we’d be 10-3, many would be happy. It sucks to lose but the season was fun, Cam is a baller, and what we all thought would happen did in fact happen. Our DBs were suspect going into the season, and it showed up. Sometimes we have to take our canes glasses off and see that Guidrys defense had holes in August, and we didn’t fix them…Deep down I think we all knew this wasn’t a championship team. And if we see it, the guys who get paid to do this **** def saw it too

it isn't just the record, but the manner in which it happened. Context matters in these things.

This season Mario had a chance to change the perception that he isn't a great game day coach.

Well, unfortunate he reinforced it

So Miami loses 42-41 in the Pop Tart Bowl. To finish 10-3. In many ways it was a microcosm of the '24 season -- Cam Ward did so much for this team and program, but the program (specifically the defense) didn't do nearly enough for him

This should've been a playoff team. It wasn't. And by that standard, this season in my view wasn't a success for Mario Cristobal and the #Canes

It was a fun and entertaining team, but a terribly flawed one(two units, defense and special teams were really bad).

As Bill Parcells says, ''aint no medals for trying."

-- Just one take away as we head into the off-season: there's no way Cristobal can bring back Lance Guidry, right? If he does, OK, it's your job, good luck with that. I have never seen a more uncoordinated unit in my life. They wasted a special year for Cam Ward and the offense
the offense did their part but the defense didnt. not just cam, the offense as a whole has balled all year except Ga Tech.

Yea but so many of us choose to ignore his record or even the schools record when it comes to doing things. A tiger doesn’t change its stripes and anyone who believes that people can become someone totally new end up getting let down. He is who he is. We are who we are. It’s not going to change because we believe it will…

Frankly, not sure how much deep analysis can be made from the play on the field as the game was pre-determined to be an exhibition with Cam sitting out the 2nd half. Yes, there are plenty of questions about Mario, but this "event" (it wasn't a game) is one of just many examples of the evolution of college football and IMO it's not a good one.

The first 4 minutes of the game looked like everything wrong with the season.

We turned it over on the first snap
We committed a penalty on the next play before they even took a snap
We let them convert on 4th and 1
We gave up a passing TD

The ONLY thing missing was a George penalty. Otherwise, that start was our season in a nutshell.
My thoughts exactly when the first 2 plays took place.

Idk how anyone can watch this entire season and think this season reinforced the previous thoughts about Mario.
- Tough n Fizical Offense... uh we just had the #1 offense in the country and passed all over everyone
- Bad at managing the games.... he was much improved this season over last season. That isn't even up for debate. You can still say he was average or below average or whatever you want, but a C+ is better than a D- or worse.
- Just won the most games we've won in two decades lol.

This season was undone by the defense point blank period..I know CIS wants to blame personnel and the players (somewhat warranted) but there’s no way u can tell me that the talent we had on D wasn’t enough to have a below average/average D in the ACC which would’ve been enough to make the playoffs with the #1 offense, instead we were historically ATROCIOUS on D by Miami standards.. point blank the defense was HORRIBLY coached… if me as a fan can see that the defense basically lost & gonna give up a big play even before the ball is snapped then wtf is the DC who is paid millions doing ???????

We basically handicapped ourselves this game and still had an opportunity to win it in the end, this game doesn’t tell me anything other than we have some young promising offensive talent & Emory isn’t the answer at QB next year..if Cam plays the second half game we win by 2+ TDs

IDK, I couldn't care less about this ridiculous game. Iowa State had less guys opting out and their best players played the whole game. The only good thing might be now we know without any doubt we need a QB unless Nickel is the next Kenny Dorsey. Running game is fine, defense sucked but we knew it did, and the young WR look like they will be alright, hopefully with at least one transfer to show them how to fight for a ball and be consistent. I really can't imagine how little talent we have behind the defensive players who can't stop anyone, but hopefully we had another 10 or so to the current list of transfers.

Time has passed us by. I've been saying that since Shannon took over.

I'll always be a fan and hope for a fun season, which this one was in my opinion, but I don't ever see us winning it all.

Thankfully I have some great memories when times were good. Even with probation, I truly never felt this way. I thought there was a say back, not so much anymore.

well, when you lose two of your last three games as double-digit favorites and blow a 21-0 lead in the process, that reinforces a lot of things

GaTech game, didn't take points when they were there

Cuse game -- stopped hammering the run game with Martinez

Iowa State game -- really a meaningless contest, but again, like at the Cuse, took a FG close to the goal line, and trusted a defense that shouldn't be

Again, there's a reason for this perception

They lost the game the second they kicked a FG from the 3.
I’d take it a step further and say we lost it when we threw the ball on 2nd down

We’ve got Damien ******* Martinez and an OL that couldn’t be stopped all season on short yardage situations and we put the game on Emory Williams and Shemar Kirk

Dawson was just as much of a fraud as Guidry.
He just lucked out on the greatest QB to play college ball in our generation
