Issues with coach Mike Rumph

byrd going to tennessee has nothing to do with rumph. Had everything to do with byrd wanting to flip for the longest time and waiting until the night before NSD to do it

Jesus man not this already. The dude just got here. Golden fkd us with Byrd more then Rumph did, Golden slow played CFA and kid moved on.
 
High school coach high school results. The ******* bartender is out performing him right now. Rumph was a **** high school coach for a handful of years, so obviously he's not some greybeard coach specializing in technique and instruction, which means he was brought in to be a recruiter. He's been getting worked over like a heavy bag.


So far out of the gate he's tripped, fallen, and knocked his front teeth out.
I sure hope he can find his groove, because right now he's standing alone in everyone's dust covered in blood like a ******* ******.

That's what I'm saying. I get its early, but thus far Rumph has been underwhelming to say the least.

Should have just hired a top coach, I thought this BS was going to stop. Why would they hire a HS coach in the first place?
 
Let's revisit the issue after we play some games.....but we do need stud DBs, WRs and DL next year. We should sign up to 28
 
Talking about firing him before he

1. Gets a full cycle
2. Shows us what he can do with our corners

is complete nonsense.

Because UM is down right now after 4 years of Golden and Shannon have sunk the program into mediocrity. Until we prove we can win on the field, this stuff will happen.

this is such a stupid thread. yea we lost byrd but that had more to do with fils-aime then it did tenn vs miami. its to bad but it happens. kids flip. thats not on rumph. this staff h as had 2 months to try to recruit kids. 2 months.

wiggins was never a take. this staff didn't view him as miami quality. thats just fact. plus he was gonna be a safety and they just landed finley at safety. now id love to get carter but its a long shot i know. but if miami somehow pulls shayim carter at cb then this all becomes moot point by tomorow.

this staff deserves a full year to recruit to see what they can and can't do , they also deserve a shot at actually u know coaching someone. to judge a coach or anyone on 2 months recruiting is just stupid.

lets see how the cb's we have on roster develop like redwine jackson and see who we get at cb in recruiting next year. to judge a guy who hasn't even had a chance to coach anyone yet is just ridiculous. cause it doesn't matter how well u recruit if u can't develop that talent.

byrd was best cb prospect miami had commited yes but malek young is gonna be a cb and we have elder,redwine and jackson to go with him coming back and staff deserves more then 2 months to be judged on.

Losing Byrd and not even getting a visit from Burns is just outright bad for a guy who is coming on board without any college coaching experience (so presumably to be a recruiting guy). I might deal with Byrd/bagman stuff as just incredibly bad luck for him but not getting Burns to visit is insanely sketchy.
 
wasnt to big a fan of the hire...since i knew he didnt build heritage up or anything...they just locked in on a huge amount of recruits to their school...and capitalized on the uschool fall out to even more talent.
But i will hold off on him tell i actually see him coach his position which will just be cb.

1.) He has no control over heritage kids. This isnt some inner city dump school with guys with single parent homes where the coach is thewir mentor. Tis is an expensive *** private school with affluent families who control their kids recruitment.

2.) Realize he is from PALM BEACH...not Dade or Broward and te only high school he has coached at is Heritage...so this isnt a Ice situation where he had connections at all the inner city schools where he previously coached or members from his former staffs coached. I dont think Rumph was brought on for his recruiting prowess other than THE young heritage kids. bECAUSE TO be honest when you scale it back he is not that connected.

this guys comes across as lazy (point # 7), he should be following the top CBs in the country (freshmen - seniors..all of them...following 141 people on twitter!!!) need to build relationships. Did he even try to a build a relationship with Tyler Byrd?
This guys should be on an 8 month probation...need to prove himself as a good coach (highly doubt it) and he should get us the best players from American Heritage next year. He does not get anyone by October/November need to make a move... So far, this guys is leaving more questions than answers.

As a Skins fan, I can't stand Rumph and hope Richt sees the light after the coming season and drops him. He SUCKED playing for the Skins and was an embarrassment as a Cane on that team the entire time he was there. Just a waste as a player and coach. Let him go back to coaching some high school.
