Isaiah Horton is not hurt

I know the knee jerk fan reaction to a player transferring out is “the new team is overpaying for him” but the Horton situation is odd. He was very likely going to start next year. Who’s the last starting caliber player we lost to the portal? We’re a spender in the modern portal/NIL market. We take care of our own guys. At least from what I can tell. Did Alabama just throw so much money at Horton that our staff balked? Is Alabama so desperate for a third receiver that they’d throw a ton of money at a good but nothing special Miami receiver? We don’t tend to let guys who were really high on just leave. Especially when it’s a position with little proven production. I doubt we’ll every actually find out what the deal was but there’s got to be some reason we just let him walk.

It's also telling that the staff was actively pursuing a WR1 early on in the transfer portal window (Even before he transferred out). He may have gotten a little raise at Bama, but I doubt he got paid a major bag

Bama fans are already on the edge of their seat with DeBoer. When you look at the life cycle of coaches that followed Bryant or Stallings, its not a comfortable feeling.

DeBoer cannot not afford to have another lackluster year in the eyes of Bama fans

Well they aren't going to do
Anything special this season, so...

I don't think they make the playoffs again

COLBIE YOUNG did the same thing ... thought he was worth more $ than he is. I hope Horton sucks at Bama and ends up moping floors at a truckstop restroom.

He wasn’t anything special… no reason to overpay for a WR3 like we did last year with the Houston transfer. Jojo is gonna blossom this year and be the dude and we just have to hope Daniel’s is a good running mate with some kinda combination of the 2nd year/freshman to pick up the rest.

Unless Jeremiah Smith or someone like that jumps in the portal play the dudes we have we have talent… play them and win with them.

People in this forum are going to be pleasantly surprised with how good Trader is going to be. He will be WR1.

My concern would be who’s going to be the WR2 and WR3. That’s a huge quagmire without a lot of talent that jumps off the page.

Yeah it’s not replacing just one guy. We have to replace our 6 top receivers from last year. That’s a lot for any team
 
Even for CiS the copium here is pretty strong

People bagged on Horton for being lost as a freshman and melted down when Colby left

All he did was easily match Colby’s production and improve incredibly last year

But hey **** a guy with “DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESSION” we got unproven freshmen and sophomores that are tearing up Greentree
