Is Vasiljevic the worst "3 Pt Specialist" in history?

I'm not an internet jackass, I take pride in not being a homer although I love the Canes. Don't like his style of play and Coach L SHOULD be giving most of his minutes to Lonnie.

The issue is that lonnie's skills are largely a replication of browns skills, and you guys don't have a replication of DJ's skills (that is, a shooter who can attack a closeout, and knock down FT's at a respectable clip).

You have to have him in the game at the end of each half, because every other ballhandler on the team is a complete liability at the sin stripe.

If you wanted to give Newton's minutes to Walker, I think you'dhave a better argument, but there's also something to be said for being a senior and knowing what to do and where to go.

Finally some good insight instead of immediate defense. I understand your point, from a strategic standpoint it's probably the right call given spacing & free throws, but on the college level I just want the best 5 out there. If they can't hit free throws we're in big trouble come March anyway, better to start getting practice now.

I mean, is he better?

I'm sorry but I stopped reading after that. Lonnie is a better basketball player blindfolded.

DJ was 4th on the team last night in scoring and rebounding, tied for the team lead in assists. He obviously needs to have his scholarship pulled.

The worst 3pt specialist is the one that's useless when they go into a slump (all shooters do at some point). Clearly, he wasn't useless last night.

I'm sorry for offending you Mrs. Vasiljevic. Just a little funny your son's slump comes when ACC play starts.

Little quiet around these parts...

It's because it's a dumb argument. He's one of the most valuable players on the team.

Prophets are never appreciated in their time. History will be the judge of the validity of my argument.

Geez we just had one of the best regular season victories in ............do we really need to have a player bashing thread today?

This thread is months old obfan lol and someone updated it with his new acc stats. Which are much better. No bashing.

I'm not reading the whole **** thread so here's my thought and I'll go in peace...if someone's made my point already, so be it.

I'm not one to take the excuse of "he's a freshman/sophomore" and whatnot about some players. Take Lonnie for instance - if he effs up, it's not realistic or pertinent to say "he's a freshman"...he's so freaking talented that he should be playing at a really high level as a freshman. When he doesn't, it's a disappointment.

DJ on the other hand is not nearly as talented overall. He's going to need all 4 years of college to develop into the player he should be. He's made steady improvement year over year with the way he plays. Even just during this year, I think we've seen his evolution from just a spot-up shooter willing to chuck it up from the logo to a guy who will stay within his range, and use the dribble-drive to keep defenses honest. So...I'll say it...he's a sophomore. He's still developing and improving his game. Stat updates be damned, I think anyone with two eyes can see he's playing better now than earlier in the season, and is a key rotation player for us that can knock down some 3's or add some offense going to the bucket due to the threat of him as a shooter...nothing wrong with that.
