throw Guidry in there while you we’re at it…McCord has the ability to take advantage of every single issue we have in the back end…
He better not..Syracuse's offensive coordinator (Jeff Nixon) is a first time ever offensive coordinator this year. Guidry has both a vast talent and an experience advantage. If he gets embarrassed it'll be damning.

Imo the implications are massive for this program and as such Mario’s career. If we can’t get to the ACCCG with a heisman winning caliber QB and #1 offense it just validates the naysayers. Staring at us also is the uncertainty of next year as well, I think that is in part what raises the stakes.

Certainly he coached higher profile games but Had Oregon lost that Rose Bowl 4 years after playing for a national championship it would have been a bummer for Oregon fans but nowhere near what we’ll feel if we can’t even get to the ACCCG.

Ok. But for him, this is what he wanted to achieve all his life, so I'd guess that in his own mind, this game is the biggest ever.

How many coaches have won 2 different Power Conferences?

I don't think it is crucial in the sense if Miami doesn't win it all Mario is done. In 1986 in his 3rd year JJ built an elite defense and had a very good offense. Inexcusably the very good offense lost to PSU despite the elite defense. This elite offense is just different than that team. Year three is when most coaches who are elite knock on the door of being contenders. But it is up to coordinators to deliver the prize. Mario has given them talent. Coordinators have to bring the wins given the talent they have. I like our guys but they have to win when we are more talented than the other team.

I was thinking that at first. Next week will have a lot more uncertainty. We are still alive imo with a title game loss. I can't say the same about this week.

Edit: We can also finally put the "Same Old Miami" mantra to bed. We know what has happened before in this spot.
cway313.. If we lose to Syracuse this week it all goes to waste. But, if we lose to SMU with all of our former players kicking our ****s it will be a catastrophic look (we can't develop anyone}. Either way we're F*K. We need to win out that's our only salvation in the nation's eyes. Make it to the top 4 and we are cooking with gas. After that is any one's game 😜 :11263272045-489f4f7972-o::cool:
