Is Saturday a no-win situation for the staff?

The only win that matters is the outcome of the game. Even with a win, it won't persuade the fan base to pardon Al and DNofrio for our performance WHEN IT MATTERED.

Not gonna happen.

Sorry to thread jack, what I would like to see for the rest of the season till National Signing Day (this will have nothing to do with people being let go):

1. Win both remaining regular season games with physical football for 4 quarters,

2. Want to see the players act like there is something to play for when there really isn't (i.e. not quit),

3. Come out focused for the bowl game and play tough/physical football and win, and

4. Finish an excellent recruiting class with more talent and a local player or 2.

All of this is purely damage control, this doesn't make up for Duke and VT.

Here's what I'd love to see:

1. Win all 3 remaining games 60-49. That way we get the wins and drive home the point that Duh needs to pack his bags.

Not sure. It would be a big accomplishment for this staff. 1st win ever over Virginia.

Shut Out! Since we haven't beaten UVA is like forever and I can't remember the last time we shut anyone out, I will give staff pass until Bowl game is the shut out UVA.

Well, either of those possibilities is one way to look at it. And there are others. A win, is a win. Let's see how they look. Frankly, if they win tomorrow they will hit the 8 win total I figured they'd get to, with two games left. Meh.

The coaches had their opportunities for "statement" games and didn't perform. So, yeah, this is a "no-win" situation. Kind of like SavState and USF, and FAU were. If you pitch two shutouts coupled with 50+ points scored, then they can make a statement with the two remaining games. Otherwise, if they win, big deal. You lost to VaTech and Duke with the Coastal on the line both times. They had two shots and blew them both. There are no positives to take from just a win against Virginia.

I expect UVA to make some plays O just because our D is so inept but Miami wins easily. Not so confident against Pitt, up there in the cold. When is the last time we played well when the temp dropped below 60? Early forecast says a high of 36 degrees.
