Is Miami fans going to go from Fire Guidry to Fire Dawson next year?

No because even with TVD the offense could move the ball. The defense is a ******* joke with good talent on it. You can complain all you want about CB and safety I bet a good amount of P4 coaches would trade their rooms for the potential we had in those rooms. The coaching on the defensive side didn’t equate to **** because they couldn’t do their job and develop a good defense. Stellar DL/LB talent. You can say less so at LB but all those guys have talent/physical skill and weren’t developed.

Miami is only losing all this production next year….

Cam Ward: 4,524 total offensive yards

Damien Martinez: 1,206 scrimmage yards

Xavier Restrepo: 1,127 receiving yards

Jacolby George: 752 receiving yards

Isiah Horton: 616 receiving yards

Elijah Arroyo: 590 receiving yards

Sam Brown Jr.: 509 receiving yards

There’s a reason Dawson and his agent was chasing jobs all season long….
Hmmmm. Let me ponder that.... ARE Miami fans going to go from Fire Guidry to Fire Dawson? .........Maybe some but not necessarily the entire board.

You are right. There's a reason Dawson and his agent  WERE chasing jobs all season long. He's only trying to leverage having Cam Ward and the #1 offense in the country into a head coaching job. Nothing wrong with that. Speaking strictly in terms of Dawson and the offense and not the chief meathead in charge, if he comes back which I think he will, and we add another stud WR, the TE from Tulane and the C Brockermeyer plus a capable portal QB then Dawson should have a very productive offense. It won't be the 2024 offense but it will be good.

No. If he needs to hire a third OC because of failure, too, you fire the head coach and stop letting him scapegoat all the coordinators.
This! If he needs to fire Dawson, then it’s about time to start looking for his replacement. At that point, the insiders need to start figuring out, can we afford the buyout, a new coach, and staff.

One thing I love about Canes fans, is yall ability to throw the Baby out with the bathwater.

Yall will find one small little fairly insignificant aspect to nitpick & make that the focal point of justification for why you want a Coach fired. But here's the kicker, yall only do that with our best Coaches lol.

With Lashlee it was the "sHorT yArDaGe!" tag. Like nevermind the fact we had a really good Offense that averaged 34 points a game, nope doesn't matter, we don't convert 3rd & 1, get rid of'em!

Now we had the #1 Offense in the country & a Davey O'Brien award winning QB, with record breaking WR production & a 1,000yd rusher...

Nope, not good enough

Lol
These are the same people who think that every coach who isn’t Nick Saban is a “corch” and proven transfer portal quarterbacks aren’t good enough for Miami when we literally have nobody at all who can play quarterback.

Dawson will be fine with a portal quarterback. It’s probably going to be impossible to repeat what they did this year but he’s a capable of not great coordinator.

Most coaches are as good as the talent they have. People thought Larry Coker and Rob Chudzinski were good coaches too.

And therein lies the problem. Oh, and we'll also, more than likely, run off whatever portal QB we get because, ya know, he won't be a Heisman candidate nor the best QB in UM history. It is known.

I gotta be honest ...

I was shocked by Emory's performance. He actually looked worse. To me, this is a stunning indictment on Dawson.

The fact that this kid hasn't developed whatsoever is extremely concerning.

Maybe Dawson is only as good as his Qb.

We are merely rearranging chairs on the Titanic with these assistant firings.

It’s always the last thing that happens before we all know what really needs to take place for real change.

Which, if we are a .500 team next year, will happen. IMO.

Is it more likely Dawson gets hired away after his performance this year?
I don’t think so. IMHO, no high-level P4 program will pursue him because they all credit Cam and his surrounding offensive talent for the success of this offense. Dawson is a good OC, but he doesn’t have the respect of the OCs who have proven to be talent developers and difference makers

Couldn't the same logic be placed on Cristobal winning 10 games? Where would this team have been if not for the great Cam Ward?
