Is Mario keeping the FSU list quiet?

No way. It’s gonna be the first real atmosphere at home all season.

Innis and Fletcher were both there with other recruits post game. They didn't leave early. Gaby spoke to them.

Inniss and Fletcher both very respectful of Miami and where they’re at. They made it clear they communicated to Ohio State that they were coming. Inniss said David Cooney couldn’t possibly do more to recruit him to Miami. He said Cooney is the best recruiter he knows. Tough to say where this leads. He does believe in Cristobal’s vision and after taking in practices in the spring, he knows they are trying to figure it out.

Fletcher noted he nearly OV’d this weekend but he didn’t and said that he likely won’t OV. Seems to be saying the right things about Ohio State, but did say he will always love the program and believes they will get this right.

Looks like a no for both.

We need a legit RB in this class. Right now, doesn’t look like we will get the RB size we need - Chris Johnson is an explosive potential addition but we need size.

Mario really is an expert level salesman for kids of this caliber to even be considering us in the slightest at this point

Hope them boys enjoyed the after party cause that went about as bad as you could’ve guessed. Not shocked though. This season is over just focus on recruiting now

I'm glad MC is a "National Recruiter." Would seem the last thing we'd want is to focus too heavily on the "State of Miami."

Sure, there have been great ones playing here (Duke and Miller come to mind) but ... the list of our South Fla highly-rated HS players over the last 20 years - is a long list of players who far too often became "disappointments" - in terms of production on the field.

Coaching and development (lack thereof) is part of it, sure. But ... the rep of the area as THE prime HS recruiting hotbed in the nation is, at this point, much more of a myth than a reality.

MC's recruiting ability is what gives him a chance to turn things around by closing on a handful of priority targets left on the board & going HAM in the portal, but at this point it becomes moot without us hitting on the eventual staff changes we desperately need.

At this point I’m checked out till signing day. Then I’ll pay attention once I see staff changes. Until then I’m pretty much checked out on canes football. I didn’t even watch the game after the 1st quarter last night. Just not worth my time with the product they are putting on the field this year.

Facts. I passed out at halftime, likely from a combo of disgust & mental exhaustion. I'll pay attention fully immediately after the last game ends, hopefully Gattis is canned before then, the rest of the changes I can understand being made once the season is finished.

I would fire gattis as soon as the clock strikes 0 against Pitt. Mario May keep him till first signing day is over and then fire him but I would assume he is gone.

Then it’s all on overturning 50% of this roster or more. Garcia is gone, TVD is gone in my option. Leaves Brown and Rashada. Probably need a portal QB.

As long as Mario communicates to all commits and prospects that Gattis is gone I'm ok with it, it's more important having a big board of OC candidates and working the back channels right now to gage interest and lay the foundation for negotiations, get Rad involved if necessary, whatever it takes. And let's not forget we have Emory at qb too, he now becomes important to keep in this class.

From ON3:

The Miami staff’s pitch to Inniss hasn’t changed since his commitment to Ohio State, as the message has remained consistent since the beginning.

“They need me,” Inniss said. “That’s what they’ve been preaching to me. I was talking to Ray Ray (Nathaniel Joseph) after the game and he was like you see why we need you. To see that from him, not only Ray Ray but the coaching staff and coach Cristobal, I really believe he could build it back up. It takes time to build a program up, but I think he they’ll be able to get it done.”
