Is it safe to assume

Lmao @ Porter not being a JAG.

Guy has played in 11 games. Grimble has played in more games than broke **** Porter.

Porter wasn't a JAG when he got 7 tackles in his last game. It's not his fault that his limbs are constantly falling off and his organs are always exploding inside his body. Just deal with it: he would be our best DL if he were playing and when he comes back he'll prove it.

Agreed. Look a Vince Wilfork or any other NT in the league....they dont have **** for stats but are often said to be the more important piece of a solid defense

Except for the fact that Wilfork gets 50 tackles a season, not 2.
How about
Justin Smith with 35
Jay Ratliff with 5
Casey Hampton with 7
Vince Wilfork only has 21 this season so far
Isaac Sopoaga only has 7
BJ Raji has 7
Sione Pouha has 8
Paul Soliai has 11

All 3-4 NT's from this season

In this scheme they will not put up huge numbers, no matter how much it might irk you to say otherwise

All of those guys aren't productive whatsoever. They aren't good. Especially Sopoaga. All he does is allow Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman to rack up 250 tackles between em every year
Exactly, thats the point im trying to make here. In this defense these guys wont put up huge numbers because its there responsibility to eat up blocks and let the LBs roam untouched

The fact that you compare Porter to Wilfork and those other guys is laughable. It's great that you have this image of him being a dominant DT demanding double teams and pushing OL into RBs in the backfield, but until he actually does it, and not in 1 game, or on 1 play or 2 plays, I'll stop short of crowning him.

Hybrid defense with alot of 3-4 looks, my bad

Our DTs with the same responsibilities of a 2 gap NT in a 3-4, so your argument is irrelevent so keep on nitpickin

Nobody was crowning him

Simply said he's better than what we've got right now

YOU said that stats are the reason that he isn't considered "productive" and I was attempting to help you understand that a good defensive tackle doesn't show up on the stat sheet all the time.

No one said he was dominant. Simply said he gets way more push than what we have.

What did Curtis Porter do to your mom that has you so upset?

But What about the last part lol
:rollcanes:

Im tryin to be nice, i was told im too confrontational

I've been wanting to ask the same question jerzey. Curtis must have done something to really **** this guy off.

Real mature.

Anyway, what do I have against Porter? Absolutely nothing. I hope he's as good as you say he is, but until he shows it on the field by making plays in actual games, I'll remain skeptical. I'm just sick of UM fans crowning guys as the best ever, or going the other direction and throwing them off a cliff. UM fans are the most bi-polar fans I've ever come across.
