Where do you people come up with this? His name is Curtis, not Cortez. He is our best DL? He has played in 11 games in 3 years and has 10 total tackles, 2 TFL, no sacks, no QB hurries, no forced fumbles, no fumble recoveries.

He is definitely our best DT. Even though he's barely played he was always stout at the point of attack.

Based on what? He has barely played, and when he's played he's barely made any plays. So it's based on.....?

Based on the way he played in 2 games last year. To say he's our best DL isn't a stretch considering what we've had to witness this season.

Curious on this. I've seen people say Paul, Cain, Jenkins, Porter have all been suspended (in various threads) but I doubt you would dress if suspended. Who knows.

According to most of the post on here if he breaks thur and gets into the backfield then he is not doing his job. Our scheme requires the DT to just hold the line of scrimage and not advance. Not my type of defense but i guess we will have to live with it for now.

welp i gotta admit you know nothing. NewPorter holds the point which causes the ol to take him into account. we haven't had anyone to do that in a minute

Porter is not JAG. When healthy he's a game changing DT. Go watch tape of him when he's played. We don't have anyone close to his ability at DT. Whether we ever see it is another story.

Huh? So a guy who is a measurably better Defensive Tackle than everyone else on our roster won't make the defensive line better? There's no logic in that thought process. Will we become the 2001 Canes Defense? No. But we will be better than the 2012 edition of the Canes we've seen up to this point.

Again, how the F- is he measurably better? Because you saw him make 1 play? He has no sacks, 10 tackles, in 11 games. The proof is not in what you think, it's in what he actually does, and he hasn't done crap when he's been on the field. Don't give me anything about potential. He's played in 11 games in his career and done nothing.

Agreed. Look a Vince Wilfork or any other NT in the league....they dont have **** for stats but are often said to be the more important piece of a solid defense
