Interesting ticket numbers

Best we've ever averaged was around 60k I believe, and that was a year with a championship contending squad and an attractive home schedule. Lets beat that.

Gator fans have purchased 1000s of cane season tickets..it was the cheap way to go...

Look at stub hub...its gator fans dumping the non Gator games.....gators will have 25K if no 30K fans there

We averaged 69,000 in '02. We averaged around 62,000 in '90 and 60,000 in '94. I posted all our averages from '83-2012 in another thread. I'll try and find it.

Hey any improved is great to see. The tide is turning, unless the NCAA pulls some bull **** we will have packed houses 70 percent of the time within 2 years.

We didn't even have this during our great run in early 2000s.
If it wasn't FSU, VT, or Washington the place was empty.

Usually, but not always. We had 65,000 for East Carolina in '03, we had 68,000 for BC in '02, we had 68-70 for FAMU in '02. There are other examples, but usually the only big attendance games were FSU or VT.

Didn't Miami average 60k in 2002? I'm pretty sure we did.

I swear I think big corporations are buying blocks of tix at sun life. There is no there explanation. For example, they always say the club seats are sold out except for the ends but every game the club seats are the most empty.

Exactly. Those numbers are based on tickets sold for each game.

We did not average 48K/game last year, not a chance, not even close. Most games were more like in the 20's but somehow the announced crowd was 40+.

So which is it, either Miami is a not a rival of uf or their fans are purchasing thousands of season tickets to get to the game?

I've heard that gator fans unable to get tickets through their allotment have been snatching up season tickets. May help explain part of increase

I hear that every time we play ufaag or fsu, but I doubt those broke *** rednecks are snapping up UM season tickets in droves. I think they're buying tickets on the scalping sites if they're buying them.

Maybe they pawned their gold tooth.

Paid attendance and actual (a$$es in the seats) are different. I like that people are at least buying the tickets and supporting the program, would be cool if they also showed up.

I am sure their are UF fans that purchased season tickets and will dump the rest of them on stubhub. Is this number in the 1000s, I doubt it but it is difficult to prove. When you call hurricane club, they don't make you take a hurricane fan test. You give a donation and request a certain seating/price point.

Also remember that some Miami "fans" will buy season tickets simply for the fact that there is a UF game at home on the schedule. Buying the season tickets guarantees you get access to the game. It will be a long time till we get them at home again. So maybe some Miami "fans" ponied up the cash for tickets.

I'll gladly take the Gator fans money. I'm sure all those yards sales and holding off on that extra pair of jorts was worth it!

The difference is we are announcing tickets sold/distrubuted at Sun Life, while we announced actual attendance at the OB.

It's not as simple as that. Read this article from several years ago. Read the whole thing and it will be apparent that the NCAA allows you to report just about anything you want to, for any reason you choose. All attendance numbers since 2005 should be viewed with a skeptical eye.
