Interesting stat on quality wins

This is interesting. I kept hearing how our “strength of record” was so strong but never dove into the data. I suppose this is the indicator.

Thing is, the people making the needle moving decisions seem to have a very negative opinion of our squad. All that means is we need to take it out of their hands (same way you never leave a game up to the refs) and handle our business.

Win and we’re in. Nothing else matters.

This has been floating around for a while, but apparently it doesn’t matter if it’s not “top 25.” Nobody really cares. Especially if it’s in our favor.

Louisville - 20
VT - 29
Cal - 30
UF - 39
(Duke - 43)
Those are/were pretty good teams and you can't complain about wins, although would have liked to see a dominant performance or two outside of UF.
Hopefully we're in the Win Small phase of the Lose Big/Lose Small/Win Small/Win Big 4 year plan.

Also, the"top 25" argument is arbitrary at best. Teams seemed to get ranked in the top 25 to justify the placement of other teams that are ranked higher. i.e. most second tier SEC teams

We are who we thought we would be. Good but not great. The irony, I don’t see any great teams this year. Miami is likely 7-3 in the sec or B1G unless it plays an IU/Mizzu schedule.

They think we're frauds because the D is awful.

All we've done all year is beat who they put in front of us - until Saturday. Even on Saturday we had the ball at the end of the game - I'd have put money on Ward driving down the field for a TD.

I want to say Duke, Pitt, Louisville, GT and VT have all been ranked at some point this year.

The voters can't make their minds up.

Injuries have hampered VT, GT, and Florida. Florida had a great chance to beat Tennessee until Mertz went down, and they still barely lost after Lagway came in a threw a horrendous game changing INT right to Tennessee.

GT hasn't been fully functional since UNC game when King got hurt. GT had a chance to be a 8-9 win team this season minus those. VT lost @ Syracuse in OT without Drones and Tuten playing.

2 of those wins are seen as questionable and we did what everyone said we’d do. Our D collapsed as usual and the O couldn’t save us. That’s the national narrative at least. We’ll see what the committee says.

The ACC as a whole is a massive collection of decent to above average squads. Only Clemson 2015-2020 was elite. The current data definitely reflects we are beating mostly decent teams at best with a few being arguably quality wins, but our inability to create separation from the average at best teams is where we lack.

I disagree, to an extent. What the committee does/thinks is all that matters. What fsu fans on twitter think or what Joel Klatt thinks matters zero. The committee put us at 4 last week. I don’t care how many people disagree or think the teams we play are ****. The committee showed you last week how they're going to vote/rank.

However, I do think it LIKELY doesn't matter. Many things can happen the next month, but I think an 11-1 Miami LOSING to SMU in the ACCCG, probably misses out. It'd be really close, we'd be somewhere between 11-14. But let's not give them the chance to ***** us, mmkay?

Big questions:
Does an 11-2 or 10-2 Miami team get left out of the cfp?
Does a 10-2 Clemson get in over Miami or SMU with a similar 2 loss record?
Does a 3 loss SEC team get in over a 2 loss ACC team?

Respectfully disagree there brother

We are great for ratings even if it’s from hatred

I could be wrong of course but money is what matters
This true, if we dont win the ACC I think they may still want Miami in. They may rank us 11 and give us the hardest 6th seed ever. Road game somewhere just so people tune in to see us lose.

Win the ACC and we are laughing
