Interesting read about Kevin Olsen

My opinion - I don't think there is any quarterback competition this year. If Olsen was going to be the guy, he had Spring to put in the work and get the job. I think you bring Heaps in and work him out with the 1's so that he can get his timing down with the receivers and center.

I think Kaaya is going to be a great QB at UM, but I don't think you throw him in to the fire as a true freshman. There is too much to learn - line calls, reading coverages, blitz pickups... there is a big difference between college and high school in these areas and I think Kaaya needs a year in practice throwing against Tracy Howard and Deon Bush to really be ready.

I could be wrong. I doubt it tough.

Al Golden is not a difficult man to read. He'll start a less talented guy over a more talented guy if the one with less talent is a hard-working leader who has it between the ears. It's pretty clear that Olsen has disappointed in that areaN up to now.

I think this year Heaps will be the guy, and next year it will be an open battle between Olsen and Kaaya. That's my opinion.

Couldn't agree more

This has been our problem for the last 11 years....man we will be fine once we get a guy who really owns the process.

Negged for using the word "process"

Wow, how opinion has changed about Olsen. Right before the spring game he was just a kid who "was just getting laid" during his first semester.

You are who you are granted you can mature overtime, he's shown so far that he's not a leader. I know you have to be patient and wait your turn but clearly everything was laid on a platter for him as being the starter this year. All this talk of Williams injury.... Really he's also a non experienced quarterback as well as underachiever whom wouldn't have started no way. He's spent 3 years on the bench backing up a not so good quarterback, so what does that make him. Plus fans didn't want him out there no way. Olsen should've been preparing since he signed on to take the helm this year and showing his peers how serious this really is. Hopefully that can change or like I said maybe he's just one of those guys. Meanwhile Kaaya has to keep that wave of confidence going and translate it on the field and get us some wins and a title. Its title time this year and here on out.
