Interesting post about speed at WR

It would be ill-advised for Horton to leave.
I dont know where this talk of him leaving is germinating from. This is another reason I dont think these guys watch any other ball or know whats going on. They think one decent game gets you drafted if you wearing the U bro.. This stuff only comes from our fans, lol..

I think we get a starting QB, WR and a OL in the portal. All the rest of the portal additions will be on D and more than they had planned on before the season. I will guess 6 on D.

I don’t see why he’d stay.

He’s a 3rd/4th round guy right now.

Physically, he’s not going to improve much more. And if it statistical accolades he’d come back for, that’s also at risk with the change in QB.

I don’t see a reasonable situation that he would come back to school for outside of winning a conference or national title.
90% sure Horton is coming back to be THE guy.

Not WR2/3.

Think even with Emory as QB1 he’d be back. If we improve in the portal again, I’d assume it only helps.

I agree to a certain extent.

You need some level of athleticism to be able to run routes and separate from DB’s.

I agree that they don’t need to run a 4.2 to be successful, but a guy who runs a 4.7 and is a “craftsman” will only be open momentarily while the more athletic DB break back to the route.

How many guys on this team can separate religiously?

X; Horton; and Trader. Two of those guys are gone after this year.
And you better have a serious accurate qb to get it to him in that small window pause. Or he ain’t touching the ball

How has Horton proven enough to be a 3rd rounder?
lol he should absolutely return

Trader hitting the portal? I would hope Horton is not trying to go the NFL. Wouldnt surprise me a Miami player leaves so he can be drafted in the 5th round or worst.

Because now you can almost make as much in college as a 3rd/4th round guy?

And if you leave and get cut you could be trying out for CFL teams/selling insurance pretty quickly
This doesn’t sound right. I just looked up a random 4th round pick from 2024.

A.J. Barner signed a four-year contract worth $4,775,108 with the Seattle Seahawks. This deal includes a signing bonus of $755,108 and guarantees the same amount.

This roster needs a truly dynamic playmaker (we don't have one right now), but this graph caught my attention. Craftsmanship, quicks, hands and play strength are still most important at WR.
Facts! I’ve been saying this on here for a long time. Route running, lateral movement, explosiveness and great hands and ball skills are the most important traits, as well as competitive spirit and intelligence.

And there are also 4th rounders that didn’t make the 53 man squad. Also, is Horton guaranteed 4th round??? Not so sure about that.

Definitely interesting, but my question is how good we're these guys in college and what kind of numbers did they put up in college? Reason being we are a college football program so the only thing that matters to us is what do wideouts with elite speed do in college not the pros
