Interesting post about speed at WR

I like football players who run track. I don’t care about track athletes who play football. 40 times are incredibly overrated as a metric for receivers. Obviously you can’t be slow but a 4.5 guy who runs crisp routes, gets open and catches everything is way more important than a guy who runs 4.3 in a straight line but nothing else.

I’m cool with adding a WR but let’s make sure we pick correctly this time Sam Brown has no dawg in him and he’s left a lot to be desired…

I’d rather roll with Horton, Carr, jojo and RayRay if we can’t get a for sure stud
im not sure Ray Ray has what it takes.
Brown I think has another year but I dont care if he or ray ray come back to be honest.

Btw, everyone is forgetting about Chance.

I’d rather not have brown come back next year unless it’s for a low ball NIL deal… I’d rather see the young pups get reps and build than see stop gaps going through the motion.

Didn’t forget chance just don’t see him beating out Horton… do expect to actually see him see the field though in rotation.

Horton is good. Honestly, I'm most excited about Ny Carr. I think we will start getting the caliber of WR's our program has always produced.
We are good at RB and TE.

Agreed. That’s why not I’m wanting to shake up the rooms chemistry with bringing in just a warm body like a Sam brown…. It needs to be a JSmith type of talent where it’s not even a question to anyone including the room.

Horton is catching balls (pause) from a guy right now who literally turned down the NFL draft with a 3/4th round projection to come back to school for a big payday via NIL AND raised himself into the 1st round. Why on Earth would he NOT come back?
False equivalency. Talent wasn’t why cam was going low at that point of his career. There’s no real path for horton to all of a sudden be Ahmmon Richards

I don’t see him as a 1st round guy. He’s not going to run fast enough at the combine (40, short shuttle, etc.) to go that high.

He’ll be the next in a long line of WR who come into the league cheap and hang around for a decade collecting a huge contract. Might as well start that journey now.
or he gets drafted lower in the 4/5th round and is cut in two years. Take the NIL and improve your craft and draft status

I don’t see why he’d stay.

He’s a 3rd/4th round guy right now.

Physically, he’s not going to improve much more. And if it statistical accolades he’d come back for, that’s also at risk with the change in QB.

I don’t see a reasonable situation that he would come back to school for outside of winning a conference or national title.
3rd-4th round where? lol Horton literally has no draft buzz and doesn’t even start here. That kid would go undrafted if he left

Didn’t say they were equal. Situations are though. If Horton gets X-like targets next year, there’s room to move up quite bit draft stock-wise. I also don’t think he’s a 4th round prospect at this point.
I’m not claiming to have a crystal ball, nor am I trying to make a decision for the guy. I lean heavily to the side of coming back unless you’re a sure-fire 1/2 rounder. Just my opinion. I cited Cam as an example of someone who did as I mentioned and it sure appears to be working to his favor.

Horton is in UDFA territory at the moment. We have a tendency on this board to overestimate how early players who aren’t ready for the next level yet could be drafted.

I agree, he's got one decent year under his belt. For one year to get you drafted it would have to be **** near historic. Not sure where the 3rd/4th round talk is coming from.
