On a separate note, anyone have any idea which schools are left on Shannon's state merry go round?
That is the problem. He built that house on the portal. You cannot have sustained long term success based on that scheme. He cannot recruit and does not like to recruit. He will field a team that barely gets to the bowl the next couple years and then the buyout will be low enough to fire him. A terrible bowl game is the best they can hope for.I understand that they're having an all-time bad year, but realistically, it wont be that bad next year.
They'll hit the portal and get some more guys.
If they had got ANY QB other than DJU, they wouldn't be in this situation.
They'll bounce back. The NIL era allows next-year rebounds.
Private equity funds, of course. They are just nonprofits looking to donate to the Noles, and won’t ever be seeking a return on their investment! With what funds?
plus all the dead weight assistants they will be buying out when Norvell is forced to clean house prior to the eventual capitulation in 3 years of just firing Norvell. They don't even have enough money to buy more water guns, much less buyout Norvell.
While they can only climb from the disastrous season they are having. I think next season will be an uphill battle that NIL alone won't help them ascend to much. How do you allure coaches and players to a school that barely won 2-3 games after already having spent a decent amount of NIL? They've kind of shown college football nation how **** poorly their evals have been and will continue to be. Norvell isn't a newly hired coach entering a school that needed a rebuild, he has to rebuild his own disaster. All things are possible but man if dude doesn't have the mental fortitude Norvell may bow out of his contract cuz **** about to get reallllll. Imagine what his family must be enduring from those psycho's up in trailerhassee.I understand that they're having an all-time bad year, but realistically, it wont be that bad next year.

The ND game will be a carbon copy of the UM game. Run control the ball, FSU won't be able to score. The score will look close but FSU will never have a chance.Norvell might not have a recruiting class after this year. ND will roll them, Florida might beat them, and I’m sure UNC will beat them. So wins against an FCS team and barely beating Cal after scoring only 14 points.
All this... Norvell is in year 5, his "guys" should already be there contributing. While they can only climb from the disastrous season they are having. There are other ways to pressure a guy to move on - I get the feeling he's going to feel an inordinate amount of personal pressure. I see a scenario sim to CMR, not being ill and bowing out, but something along those lines if he doesn't have a convincing plan to showcase a future at Tally. I'd love to be a fly on the wall, but I'm sure the admin in Tally is meeting with Norvell on the regular reviewing his every current move and discussing his potential future plans in order to course correct. No team is gonna bounce back from a 2-12 season and a horrible recruiting class in a fast way. They cant afford to get rid of him and with stadium news im sure NIL money is tight, plus take into account players theyll lose in portal from jumping off this cluster.
He still wouldnt leave a ton of money on the table. In that scenario he’s still taking a huge part of his buy out. Then they gotta figure out the next $14mil per year for next staffThere are other ways to pressure a guy to move on - I get the feeling he's going to feel an inordinate amount of personal pressure. Agreed, he's not leaving empty handed but think something's cooking. we shall see. Regardless the school is losing a massive amount of money. He still wouldnt leave a ton of money on the table. They've been doing an upgrade to that **** stadium for the past 15 ****** years. good excuse they got there.Got a good friend thats pretty involved with the fsu athletics. Caught up with him this morning and he mentioned something i never thought of in addition to the 60 million buyout.
"Could not have picked a worse time to initiate a $300M stadium upgrade. We are really fck'd brother"
