Interesting article about playoff selection

Its probably going to lead to a BCS type system replacing the committee.

But since the formulas that go into those models are treated like state secrets, there's nothing stopping them from including a built in edge for SEC/B1G teams.

At least now we have people to accuse of lying.

I thought I was over it, but now I’m heated all over again. I would say bring back the BCS computer model and allow it to generate the 12 best teams - but we all know that the SEC and B10 would have a say in how the metrics are calculated - so we’d be in the same spot that we’re in now.

At the end of the day, we either have to go 12-0 and lose in the ACCCG….
Or
Win the ACCCG regardless of record to get the autobid

Because I’m here to tell you guys - had we beaten Cuse and lost to SMU or Clemson in the ACCCG, we’d be sitting here at 11-2 wondering how in the heck did 9-3 Bama get in over us.

Yall trying to make us the next fsu. Soft
I can’t say I disagree with this statement - I’m okay with being angry/upset but lawsuits is another level - miss me with that.

Did we get screwed? Yes.
Did OP show how we got screwed? Yes.
Should we be ****ed? Yes.

Let it be fuel for the bowl game so that we’re not getting beat 63-3 like FSU last year…we don’t want one of these videos about us lol….

My man said “he’s already DEAD” 🤣🤣🤣

They’re all so full of ****.

And for the know it Alls this isn’t about well “Miami doesn’t deserve it, should have won on the field” argument

NONE of the teams in question did that. All could have won one more game and taken the decision out of the committee. It’s about the bull**** rationale and decision making and moving the goalposts and arbitrary drops or elevations with no consistency going against their on rules and statements in discussions about multiple teams that all didn’t do what they could on the field
I think a lot of us understand and think Miami may not deserve to get in after the past month but Bama is even less deserving and that’s the issue for a lot of us. If it’s going to be Bama, it should have been Miami. But this is what I expected. They’d get a 4 loss Bama in there if they can.

To no one's surprise, Nick toes the SEC party line....

“Strength of schedule, and what teams did you beat?” Saban said. “How many good teams did you beat? I think that speaks volumes about what kind of team you’re capable of being. I think there’s a lot of ups and downs in college football. Probably the system has created that to some degree. It’s more difficult to be consistent. I don’t think we want to do anything in this playoff situation that’s going to enhance people not to play a tough schedule. I think we want people to play a tough schedule because you want good games. People want to see good games ... You want people to play in those games and you want them to schedule some tough nonconference games. I don’t think we want to enhance people that won 10 or 11 games and didn’t play one top 25 team or didn’t beat one top 25 team.”

Alabama has the No. 17 strength of schedule, while SMU has the No. 75 strength of schedule. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide is 3-1 in games against teams ranked right now in the CFP top 25. SMU is 0-1.

Once again, they will use the same metric they used to keep Miami behind bama. It won't matter that Duke and Louisville were ranked when SMU beat them....

He's right. It's a change we can make to avoid this situation in the future. Also, why wouldn't we want to play big games. I mean, are we trying to be G5?

Top 25 metric is so dumb. So if you beat #25, nice add it to the resume.

If you beat #26, who fckin cares. Not the same.

Gtfo here with that dumb ****.
Well you have to draw a line somewhere. #26 is what we call "unranked." It has been a thing in college football for 50 years now.

Man I was starting to get over how we got robbed by the committee but now I’m getting ****ed again. Just not fair

It's a dumb metric that is manipulated easily by the corrupt. See below. I guarantee you it's no fckin coincidence this happened to Miami.

Yeah, much of it is dumb and subjective, especially now. But just being a P4 team isn't good enough anymore. Especially since you can go through an entire season without playing a ranked team. Duke lost their ranked games
