Im still happy about where we are at

We will beat WF, no question

And this is the problem for me and this season in general. This is simply not true. I would not be shocked at all if it was a one score game in the 3rd quarter.

If you had asked me before the season if I would take 9-1, and end it there, I would have said absolutely. But the information we had at the start of the season is not the same information we have now.

If at the start of the season I had said, "the offense will be one of the best in the country, one of the best college offenses in years, but the defense is so bad that even with that offense we're constantly trailing by multiple scores in all our ACC games and basically all our conference games are 1 score wins", I'm not so sure you'd jump all over that. You might take your chances with simply a very good offense and good defense. And honestly, that combination this season probably gets you to 10-0.

It's very difficult to be happy wasting a generational QB with a defense that's generationally bad. Guidry should not survive the season if this doesn't get fixed (and it won't). Are you signing up for a season where your DC gets fired immediately after its conclusion? Again, probably not.

I think people have this confidence that we'll beat Wake and then go to Syracuse and win and I think that's a coin toss, maybe worse. What is this board going to look like if we lose to Syracuse, lose our chance to go to the ACCCG, and that's the end of the Cam show in Miami? It's going to be nuclear on here.

The vitriol needs to be tempered; I think, imho, the reason the GT loss hurts or angers our fan base the most is b/c the schedule will be at its weakest we’ve arguably ever had, & if there was any season to go undefeated, it would’ve been this.

None of us expected FSU to be this bad, & none of us expected UL to be this mediocre. So when it became obvious that UNC, FSU, UL, & VT all looked pedestrian, it was a clear sign we would run the tables, & parlay the 2024-5 season as a regular season undefeated team.

However, all the goals r still in tact:

1. 10 win regular season will most likely happen next game
2. Unless we **** the bed in one of the next two games, a spot in the ACCCG will be on the horizon
3. If we (& we should) make the ACCCG, we should be able to win it against Clemson or SMU.
4. If we take care of #3, then an unexpected entry into the CFP12 happens.

Imo, that’s a successful season. Even if we don’t win the ACCCG, but qualify for a NY6 bowl & win that, that’s a successful season. 2017 was a fun season, but it wasn’t a successful season b/c not only did we not win the ACCCG, we got smoked in our NY6. If Mario & Co. can win the ACCCG, make the CFP, and/or win our bowl game, I will call this a successful season.

Now, if we **** the bed to end the season, then that’s a totally different story, but all in all, despite what happened last Saturday, all goals r in play.

What does virgina have to do with it? We didnt play virgina. Only common opponent is louisville and SMU and us beat them. So SMU and miami pretty much unless we lose one or SMU loses 2. Correct??
Reading comprehension stinks, huh. Your original question was three 7-1 teams.

I'm talking about who we would play (Clemson or SMU).

We are in no matter what if we win our last 2 games with a tie breaker over clemson.

SMU Beat Lousiville. Clemson did not. Clemson beat Virginia, SMU has to play them. If SMU loses to Virginia, then the deciding factor on who gets in between Clemson and SMU will be ACC opponent win percentage. SMU has played no one outside of louisville, I think Clemson would win that tiebreaker. If SMU beats virginia and their 1 loss is to someone else, they would get in because they beat louisville and clemson did not.

If we don’t make it to playoffs there will be tons of kids that sit out the bowl game. Including Ward.

I think people had a feeling this offense would be good and the d would good enough to get by. The DL has been overrated, Lbs are not good, Dbs worst in the country.

Once people saw the offense being as elite as it is then expectations went through the roof. Add on the favorable schedule. Once this team beat Louisville on the road then the expectation was 12-0. I mean look at who was left on the schedule after Louisville. To lose against a 5-4 team with a qb who was nowhere near 100% is beyond embarrassing.

I wouldn’t say the exact same position. We had an ACCCG mulligan in our back pocket, not so much now.
And the seeding is drastically different, we had the potential to move up to the #2 seed after this weekend

Very very disappointing all around

Cam and all the seniors would **** sure opt out of that NY6 game
