I'm for real done with this...

Not true at all actually, there’s much more diversity than vodka. Sweet, dry, all kinds of flavor notes from chocolate to nuts and different fruits etc. I’d recommend giving it another go.

Btw hot sake is always the worst one, all the decent sake is always served cold.
I'll defer to you and believe that. Like I said I've only had it a handful of times. How much will a bottle of Soto run a person?

The premium bottle is like $40, the entry bottle is like $25. Both are good. It’s easy to drink and crisp, colder the better. If you like those then you can start looking into trying other ones based on what you want to try.

if you are a novice like me and like the BT and McKenna, which of the following would you get - based on what I am more likey to like - the lower priced Weller ($100-125), the Weller antique store $185, the EH Taylor at $100 or the Blantons?

Taylor hands down. Weller SR is not worth it. OWA (antique) is fantastic but way overpriced at 185, IMO, even if it's a SP. You can find them online closer to 100. Blantons is good but a lot of hype. I think EH Taylor is a much better value.

I can get the Weller for $50 when they have it. So far I May like the McKenna 10 best. It’s $60

On my first try of Blantons and Taylor, I like the Blantons more. The Taylor had a woodsy taste. I need to try again though.

I have a McKenna 10 that I love, but I've heard they're kind of hit or miss depending on the barrel.

Agree EHT is move oaky than Blantons, just depends what you like.
If you haven't tried Old Forester 1910, I recommend that as well. Easy to find, good flavor.

I’ve had a couple of them but it’s been 2 years. I’ll give it a shot.

Surprised by this. But we all have diff taste buds. Taylor to me is above blantons. And by a good margin. And I like blantons a lot

Blantons varies for me a lot from bottle to bottle. Not sure if it’s just me. Sometimes I try one and it’s like alcoholic caramel and I’m not mad about it

That last sentence is not completely right, my friend. In the winter, especially in northern Japan, hot sake is the way. Unfiltered, hot sake.

Trust me, it has it's place.

Same. I prefer to drink other people’s Blanton’s. Seems to hit the palate just right compared to mine…
