If Teddy Bridgewater came here...

Teddy Bridgewater is dead to me and should be to any Cane fan. First off, he reneged on his commitment to us. Then he chose Louisville... Louisville???? come on. Strong is a good coach, but no 5 start recruit with options wants to spend 4 college years in Louisville without an incentive. I wont waste any more time discussing Teddy Bridgewater.

I think Morris would start. Teddy would be a red shirt jr when he got to start then if we were lucky Olsen would be a red shirt jr when he started.

Set at qb for the next 6 years.

BTW, can we end the myth that Bridgewater is a spread QB? He is a deadly accurate pocket passer who spends plenty of time under center. What would prevent him from playing in our system?

The only reason he was in the gun exclusively last night is because he was playing with a broken wrist and couldn't take the snap any other way.

Morris has shown he can throw that deep ball. Dude has an NFL caliber arm. That ***** wouldn't come to Miami and start.

IDK, Morris has a huge arm but he really lacks touch, especially on deep throws. He needs to learn to put some air under it.

Don't know how anybody can definitively say a 56% passer is a lock to make it a league.

A 54% passer went eighth in 2011.

Morris will make the pros. But if he actually wants to be a starter, he needs to take the next step as a senior.

And, IMO, it's a pretty big step. But his pocket presence improved towards the end of the year, albeit against poor competition, so who knows. He makes some pretty tough throws but all that arm strength doesn't help us too much if he can't dump the ball off to get us first downs. I guess we'll know come the 2nd game of 2013.

Don't know how anybody can definitively say a 56% passer is a lock to make it a league. Morris' arm and measurables give him a shot if continues improving, but he is far from a lock to play on Sundays

Check Jake Locker's completion % numbers in college and he's starting on Sundays. Morris will get drafted.....he has "tools" and that is what the league looks for.

On short requirements, Morris has very little touch or ability to adjust. That will kill him in the NFL. Scouts may fall in love with the arm strength and improvement but once they get him in camp and run all the situational drills ("okay, it's 3rd and 5 at the 8"), he'll flop. That doesn't mean he won't hang onto the end of a roster but with tunnel vision impatience in the vital 3rd and medium throws he can't be an NFL starter. You need clever players who dip and dodge and move around in the pocket while buying time and then delivering with ideal pace and arc to fit the evolved requirement of the play. Morris has none of that in tight quarters. He's improving downrange when the initial intent breaks down, as witnessed by the long touchdown pass to Walford against South Florida. That may have been Morris' best ad lib of the season, or his career.

Morris completed fewer than 50% of his passes from inside the opponents' 40. His best role is first down on our side of the field.

There's no question Bridgewater starts above Morris. Fisch would salivate at all the ways to use Bridgewater.

Toward our other quarterbacks, when I attended the 2012 spring game I couldn't believe that lot equated to 3 scholarships. You've got to be kidding. I hope Al Golden never speculates in Las Vegas or elsewhere if that's his idea of value.

I dont think we are any better than 7-5 had Bridgewater been our QB this year. In fact, i dont think we even get to 7 wins. Morris was the sole reason for a handful of our wins.

It is what it is. We needed QB depth and Williams was available. I dont see him as a bad backup. Dewey was injured throughout his senior season and was out of commission until spring ball. I fully expect him to compete and possibly win the starting QB job after Morris' time is done. Crow, well that's a coach Golden thing. Sometimes you bring a kid in to help your program in areas other than the games themselves.....I... I... I guess.

Not another "IF" Teddy Bridgewater post.
What is the infatuation with some regarding a player that spurned us for UL? I mean really real people.
And it's not like we have a dud at QB. We have a kid in Morris that broke UM QB records this year for crying out lout.
Morris is here. He decided to play here for this fan base. Bridgewater did not. End of story. Wish that kid well and move with your lives. It's been 2 years now.
He aint coming here, won't transfer here, and will never care to be here.
You think he's thinking up in UL, "Dam, imagine if UM's fanbase could be up here so I can play for them" ? HECK THE **** NO.
So why do you all lower yourselves into thinking the same expect him being down here? Have some self pride people. Look in the mirror and ask yourselves what the *** of a Canes fan have I turned into?

Might I suggest that you submit a list of topics to D-Money and LuCane that you feel would be acceptable for us to discuss during the off-season. Until then, please dont mind if we discuss whatever aspects of college football that we would like to discuss here.

Please these Bridgewater posts have been going on before the season, during the season and now after the season. and by the looks of it will be going into next season, into the season and after.
In the meanwhile our BOY MORRIS is going to be lighting it up like a mudderfukker taking us to the ACC Champ game and BCS bowling yet we'll have a section of this fan base still lamenting about Teddy WaterUnderTheBridge. God help the Bridge lovers if Morris gets taken ahead of Bridgewater.

And while we're at it, Why not start a post about Louis Nix starting here? Same case? Actually losing out on a kid like NIX hurt us more than losing out on Bridgewater.
But nope. Bridgewater the man the myth the legend is the topic de jour I guess.

Regarding D$ comments on Dewey, I'm not surprised at all and will not be shocked if he transfers at some point. While everyone was slurping Dewey, I put him in the "expect nothing from" category the minute I realized he transferred schools because he couldn't beat out a 5'10 guy. hopefully he proves me wrong.

IIRC Dewey transfered away from SouthLake Carrol high, which is perhaps the best HS program in Texas. My guess is that the competition for QB there is greater than at most skools, given their status and that they run a spread offense. (SWAG - PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU SEE THIS)

Teddy is ahead of Stephen from a mental standpoint. There's a difference between the two right now. There are plenty of kids with big arms who can't sniff an NFL roster. We had one here not too long ago. Teddy's intangibles more than compensate for lack of elite arm strength.
