If No. 17 Clemson molly whops No. 8 SMU in the ACC championship game ...

what’s ironic is Conference Realignemnt is what stuffed us out of the playoffs lol (before anyone says it yes I know we are the reason we are left out and our defense sucks and Mario sucks blah blah blah)

If conferences were same as last year (granted records stayed the same) this week it would be:

#1 Oregon vs #15 Arizona State PAC-12
#2 Texas Vs #17 Iowa State Big12
#3 Penn State vs #6 Ohio state Big10
#5 UGA Vs #7 Tennessee SEC
#8 SMU Vs Tulane AAC
#10 Boise state Vs #19 UNLV MWC
#12 Miami Vs #17 Clemson ACC

Seeding would be:

1. Oregon * Pac12
2. Texas * Big12
3. Penn state * Big10
4. UGA * SEC
5. ND (IND)
6. OSU (Big10)
7. Tennessee (SEC)
8. SMU * AAC
9. Indiana (Big10)
10. Boise state (MWC)
11. Alabama (SEC)
12. Miami (ACC)

* Indicates highest ranked conference champion

THIS would’ve been so much more exciting. So much Chaos for the playoffs and so many different scenarios and as a fan of the game I’m going to miss the old conference affiliations.

Could’ve been one of the most impactful/chaotic week for CFB with the new 12 team playoff but instead it’ll be one of the least impactful weeks to date

Of course it doesn't, Bama plays in the SEC.

Miami is done. It's over.

Also, if SMU loses, they're done.

The committee is going to do what they were always going to do, and what I refused to believe until last night, and that's the SEC is getting their 4 teams in, period. No matter what they have to twist or manipulate or fabricate, the SEC is getting 4.

If UGA loses by 60 and Beck dies on the field, it doesn't matter. They're in.

If SMU loses, they'll drop them below Bama and just have Clemson as the auto-qualifier.

The ACC is getting 1 team in. Done.

Let me add.

The ACC will have the best record after bowl season, too, as a result of this.

Means nothing, but will say something about the ACC. It was a good conference this year and they should have gotten 2 teams in.

B1G gets 4
SEC gets 3
ACC gets 2
ND
Pig12 winner
G5 team

4/4/1/Pig12/ND/G5 is absolute bull**** on its face.

This is also the bull**** that will take years to figure out as the rest of CFB aligns to the two mega conferences. B1G and SEC getting 8 of the 12 teams in is bull****. We're talking about Indiana literally having no good wins getting in - not even a win over a Florida type team. Alabama with 3 losses, one getting beat by 3 scores to Brokelahoma two weeks ago. Penn State has one win over a ranked team (ILLINOIS lmfao). Notre Dame lost to 7-5 Northern Illinois for ***** sake. Tennessee lost to 6-6 Arkansas.

**** these *****.

you know what's funny w the heat that the committee is getting right now, I can see them doing a reverse if SMU beats Clemson lol and taking bama out. I dont think they expected a ton of anger and criticism bc Bama is a household name

It should come down to either Bama or Georgia, not both. If Georgia wins, Bama is out. If Georgia loses, then Georgia is out because they lost to Bama.

Putting two SEC teams with three losses in the playoffs would be insane. There’s no way that should happen.

the best thing that could happen is lots of chaos with underdogs winning.

The precedent has been set. When we had the 4 team playoff and you go undefeated but you’re in the ACC it’s not good enough. Now that we have the 12 team playoff if you have more than 1 loss and you’re an ACC team you aren’t getting in(unless you get the auto bid). Word of warning to SMU and their fans: You’d BETTER beat Clemson or you aren’t getting in either because Bama will get the nod over them as well. Also, I’m going to make another prediction…watch and see over the next couple of years the SEC/Big10 are going to try and eliminate some of these auto bids for some of these other conferences. It’s coming, get ready.
