Not sure about his source, but I think some have said that Whorechant is saying that Jimbo has offered to let him call plays now too.

Like I said, I think Jimbo will bend over backwards here. He NEEDS to keep Coley for at least 2 more weeks. So hes going to have to give up the goods for Coley NOW. OF course, Coley would be stupid NOT to see that, and that he could get F8cked after NLOID day, with Jimbo finding a way to back out of any promises.

So then he gets what he wants at FSU, where he's already at, and its his Alma Mater. Only question NOW, is does he TRUST Jimbo, or does he see this for what it might easily be, a ploy just to keep him around for recruiting this season.

The fact that it has leaked THIS much, leads me to think he's NOT going to take it and he will stay at FSU. If he was going to take it, we wouldnt be hearing all these "rumors". The "rumors" get floated to put pressure on the current school to match or up their offer to try to keep the guy. Sounds like he's getting everything he wants now, so the motivation to take our gig is much less.

Thursday morning update: FSU believes offensive coordinator James Coley is leaving for UM. An announcement could come today, but there's nothing official yet.

FSU agreed to match - but not surpass - UM's $500,000 offer. But FSU would not allow him to call plays; Fisher enjoys doing that himself.

At UM, Coley would run the offense and call plays. He has called plays only one season in his life - for a talent-deficient FIU team that finished 1-11.

Coley, a Miami High graduate, also likes the idea of returning home to Miami, where he has family.

Coley's move also could help UM in recruiting.

ALWAYS, but ALWAYS, Jimmy's and Joe's. Especially when you want to win Big like we want to win Big. That hard coaching, with lesser talent is for the birds, we want to dominate and you need the horses to do so. Richardson's a pretty good coach as is Paul Williams, and D works with the linebackers, which is great regardless of his shortcomings as a Coordinator. Cristobal, Carroll, and Jethro, are ?, but will we legitimately lose games because of them? Remains to be seen.

Right, how good of coaches were Shannon, Coker, etc, those teams were loaded with talent and made the coaches look good.

Culture son...Culture. Don't ever insult Al Golden's culture by comparing it to Randy Shannon and Larry Coker.

I wouldn't count on Jimbo fisher giving up the play calling. Telling Coach Coley he will release and actually doing so is two different things.

LOL @ McDonald. Well it wouldnt surprise me one bit. He wanted to be the OC here after Fisch, and got a better gig, and after all his moves, the job he REALLY wanted finally opened up. Im sure Al had/has him on speed dial if the Coley thing doesnt pan out.

The GOOD thing is that McDonald was a big time recruiter for us, and he had the big relationship with Coley. If we do end up with McDonald, maybe its not too late for him to get back in Coley's ear. He also learned under Fisch, so I imagine he would run a similar offense.

Not saying there's no risk but if you are wary of Coley being hired take a peek at the guys still left for this year and then look at the absurd amount of talent in 2014. We might not even need coaches if we land the top guys in Florida.
