If this cat is dumb enough to accept Jimbo's "offer/promise" then I personally wouldn't want him. There is NO way that such a forced situation like that would turn out well. Shotgun marriage which jimbo annuls when his own season and job will be on the line.

ALWAYS, but ALWAYS, Jimmy's and Joe's. Especially when you want to win Big like we want to win Big. That hard coaching, with lesser talent is for the birds, we want to dominate and you need the horses to do so. Richardson's a pretty good coach as is Paul Williams, and D works with the linebackers, which is great regardless of his shortcomings as a Coordinator. Cristobal, Carroll, and Jethro, are ?, but will we legitimately lose games because of them? Remains to be seen.

The longer we dont get any official word, the less likely this is going to happen. These offers arent open for very long. Either he is taking it, or he isnt. I cant imagine he got more than a 24 hour period to "mull" it over. IF he's dragging his feet, then he's in negotiations with FSU for increased responsibility. Obviously a raise and maybe a new title. Maybe Jimbo lets him call some plays, etc. Guy is an FSU grad, so Im not holding my breath. If we dont have an official word by this afternoon, I dont think this is going to happen, I just hope they dont use this to try to embarass us.

You know why Coley is a great recruiter? Cause he ain't no dummy. Not worried about his decision making process in the least.

I think if we go the rest of the day without hearing anything, it's most likely over.
 
If he stays given a "promise" from a guy who's lost much of his staff in the last few weeks then this guy is a dummy.

Pretty sure that's a given. I can easily see Jimbo doing WHATEVER he has to do to keep Coley at least one more year. HE needs recruiters, his staff has imploded. THey will throw money at Coley, and offer him some kind of sweetner, maybe some playcalling duties, maybe another title like Assistant HC, or some bullsh*t. It only has to be for one year so Jimbo can land the kids he wants this recruiting cycle, next year they can do whatever they want with Coley.

Right, how good of coaches were Shannon, Coker, etc, those teams were loaded with talent and made the coaches look good.
 
Thursday morning update: FSU believes offensive coordinator James Coley is leaving for UM. An announcement could come today, but there's nothing official yet.

FSU agreed to match - but not surpass - UM's $500,000 offer. But FSU would not allow him to call plays; Fisher enjoys doing that himself.

At UM, Coley would run the offense and call plays. He has called plays only one season in his life - for a talent-deficient FIU team that finished 1-11.

Coley, a Miami High graduate, also likes the idea of returning home to Miami, where he has family.

Coley's move also could help UM in recruiting.
