If anyone says Cam Ward is not the hands down Heisman leader

Still think Boise needs at least one (or maybe even two more losses). Jeanty is getting the “alt” vote (people who just want to vote for a non-QB), the anti-Miami vote, and is receiving A LOT of MSM attention.

Cam needs a few more zero turnover games like UL and a huge game in the ACC CG.

Sucks that Jeanty had to have the season he’s having this same year. Cam deserves to win it as far as I’m concerned.

THIS IS BECAUSE OF CAM
SI
The brand name of the Miami Hurricanes already carries a lot of weight. Now, they have a team that can be marketable and put in any time slot on Friday or Saturday and it will be one of the most viewed games of the weekend.

Last week, Louisville vs. Miami was the third most watched game of the weekend, peaking at 4.1 million views, only behind the highly anticipated SEC matchups of then No. 1 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia and No. 7 Alabama vs. No. 11 Tennessee.

The thing Cam has going for him is as a quarterback, he can win games for his team in dramatic fashion and Heisman voters love that ****. Jeanty played great against Oregon but still lost and even though it wasn’t his fault, he wasn’t able to have that “carry your team to victory” moment that Cam has already had multiple times.

Stats matter but the Heisman is about a lot more than just huge numbers or all these Air Raid quarterbacks who own every passing record would have gotten more consideration. If Miami goes undefeated and Cam continues his pace the award his his to lose.
The one thing that would change that equation is if Jeanty surpasses Barry Sanders stats. The "he's better than Sanders" narrative would carry a lot of weight, even if he really isn't better

All 3 deserve it. And all at different positions.

However. I do feel MVP is Cam. The other teams wouldn’t be as effected without their star.

Last two weeks have pretty much eliminated Hunter. Part of what would get him there would be being able to play great on both sides for an absurd amount of snaps every week.

Wish people could enjoy and root for Cam without just tearing Jeanty down. I’m about as annoying a Cam truther as you’ll find, but Jeanty is incredible too. Look up his numbers against 8+ men boxes, yards after contact, etc. They don’t seem real. If you actually watch him play it’s not like they’re dialing up these plays to get him in open space, he’s just running right through dudes. And he’s sitting entire halves against their worst competition, if they wanted to get him the record he’d probably have 2k already.

Frankly as I see it, it doesn’t really matter what Cam realistically does if Jeanty beats Barry’s record he gets the Heisman. It’s seen as a sacred unbeatable record for awhile and he had his heisman moment against Oregon.
And honestly…I wouldn’t have a problem with it. That record was known as “untouchable” for decades

Its probably the greatest Heisman season in history.

Jeanty is averaging a record 9.9 ypa, gets an extra game and plays his final 6 games against teams that can't stop the run.

BUT.. If he "only" gains 180 yards in just ONE game, he's got no shot at breaking it.

THAT'S how untouchable Sanders record is. And THAT'S why Jeanty deserves the Heisman if he actually breaks it (but he won't because its untouchable).

If he is playing against teams that can't stop run, he will probably go off against a couple for 300+ also. It goes both ways

Maybe. His biggest problem is he plays at a G5 school in a weak conference. There’s always going to be a certain percentage of voters who will never give a small school guy the award. Barry Sanders played in the old Big 8 conference against powerhouse programs like Oklahoma and Nebraska. Boise plays Nevada and San Jose state.

I know they played Oregon and Jeanty played great but UCF won their only game against a P5 team in 2017 and no real poll considered them national championship worthy.

There's a lot going on here. Voters actually love all time record breaking seasons.

As far as the schedule. Yes, Oklahoma State played in the Big 8. So he played Nebraska (11-2), Oklahoma (8-4) and Colorado (9-3).

But their other 8 games?
K-State (0-11)
Miami of Ohio (0-10-1)
Kansas (1-10)
Missouri (3-7-1)
Tulsa (4-7)
Iowa St (5-6)
Texas Tech (5-6)
Texas A&M (7-6)

There's not much room for debate. Barry Sanders had the greatest season in history of college football.

Since he broke the record 36 years ago, RBs with weak schedules, RBs on run heavy teams, RBs who won the Heisman, RBs who went in the first round, RBs who would be inducted into the NFL hall of fame, have all tried to break it.

None of them have done it. The record is considered untouchable. Breaking an untouchable record is Heisman worthy.

All that being said.. He's not going to break it. The record is untouchable.

Part of the reason its untouchable bc coaches should know to not run their rb into the ground. Its been 35 yrs since a group of 5 won the heisman
You're exactly right, which makes Jeanty even more impressive.

Jeanty is currently 15th in rush attempts.

He's averaging 9.9 yards per carry, which the highest ypc in history for a RB with at least 100 carries.

At his current pace, he'd break the record in 266 attempts. That would've put him 7th in attempts last year, just behind Quinshon Judkins.
