I told u Petrino was a corch.

Water is wet and CFB coaches are sleaze balls. That doesn't have anything to do with his coaching ability.

Not being able to block a D-Line that gave up 38 points to SMU, though, does have something to do with coaching ability.

With that theory, Richt must be garbage then.

You've already established that Richt is garbage. That's why people start threads when untouchable coaches fall apart and blow their seasons.

I established that he is garbage? Huh? I just don't understand how you can question Petrino's coaching ability because Louisville's OL struggled against Houston, meanwhile our OL has become the worst OL in Miami since the 70's. So in theory, you should be questioning Richt's coaching abilities. But we know that's not the case. People like you don't hold their coach accountable, instead you excuse everything. Furthermore, you love to put other coaches down just to make yourself feel better. You are a hater.

**** at least he can beat FSU

I'm sure that's what the boosters are saying. "We blew a shot to get into the playoffs, but at least we beat FSU."

I'm sure the boosters are just fine. Petrino has the backing from arguably the best AD in the nation and the university is going to break ground on a stadium expansion at the end of the season. Lamar is still going to get them national exposure being a Heisman finalist.....

But that's beside the point I was initially making. What meaningful games have WE won with who WE got?? Do you think Richt is a corch?? He has an excuse to lose 4 in a row?? We need to worry about our own stable before going in on somebody that has done more recently than our current coach.

You just described everyone else, just in the opposite direction. They trash Richt daily, so they should be questioning Petrino after that performance. They don't hold Petrino accountable, instead they excuse everything. They love to put our coaches down to make themselves feel better. They are haters.

Make sense now?

We don't have to "worry" about anything. We don't control anything that happens on the field. So I can make fun of Petrino all I want.

So are you going to actually answer a question that I asked you or not?? Those weren't rhetorical bra lol

No, because it's not a Richt thread. You can ask those questions in the 300 threads currently ripping him. This is about Petrino's epic performance in a critically important game.

You just dodged my point and threw everyone else under the bus. You lack accountability. Make sense now?

Make sense now?

No, it doesn't. If we're going to trash our coach for losing to decent teams with a disgusting roster at a program that hasn't won a thing in 15 years, why are there excuses for a guy whose team literally crumbled while on the brink of a playoff spot?

Quotes on Petrino

"Coward. Quitter. Hypocrite. And those were some of the nicer things the Atlanta Falcons had to say about their former coach Wednesday."

"It got to the point where guys really didn’t care if he left or not," running back Warrick Dunn said. "But the way he decided to leave, to me, was just not right."

“He’s a gutless *******. Quote that. I
don’t give a s—,” Mike Zimmer said Wednesday, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"This league is not for everybody," safety Lawyer Milloy said. "This league is for real men. I think he realized he didn’t belong here."

"We’re not college kids," said Dunn, a 32-year-old, 11-year veteran. "I’m a professional, grown man. Look at me eye to eye. Talk to me. But Bobby wasn’t like that."

Defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the Falcons’ first-round pick from Arkansas, was asked what he would tell his alma mater about its new coach. "One word: Disloyal," Anderson replied.

Petrino would have this UM team 8

Get ALL the way the out of here. I really can't believe some of the shid you guys type.

You couldn't name five coaches who took a pocket qb and an iffy O-line and came out with a 10 win season in his first year no matter how good his "offensive mind" is.....

Every coach has a let down game. The complaints people had or have about Richt doesn't have any bearing on Petrino or his losing last night. The argument doesn't make sense.

Petrino is a top ten coach regardless of last nights result and that's due to his body of work at all his stops as a HC especially his recent body of work.

Richt was once a top ten coach, maybe (hopefully) he will be again but his body of work over the last four to five years leaves a lot to be desired. We will see what happens in the next couple years. He deserves his three years just like Petrino and any other coach.

Lmao because you're bogus af. His team didn't play well last night but he's a top 10 coach in college football right now idk if that can be said about ours at the moment

Petrino would have won that game if he didn't have his son as the quarterback coach (according to some on here).

Louisville Athletics - 2016 Football Coaching Staff

If you are referring to me, that is not what I said or implied. If you took it that way than maybe I was not clear enough. I don't believe Jon is losing us games, I just believe we could have hired a better, more accomplished coach.

I don't understand how that's so controversial or why you seem to be offended by the very notion.

I accept your point that it seems like many head coaches have their kids on staff. To me, all that means is that nepotism is more widespread in college football than I initially thought. Which was probably somewhat naive on my part.

It was just a casual dig. I've heard others harp on what a terrible hire little richt is so not directly aimed at you, but I couldn't help myself when I saw Petrino Jr. pop up on the tv last night. Always appreciate someone who reads the boards and takes reasonable positions.

Notre dame is decent? We blew the FSU game, allowed a horrible unc defense to beat us up, and got blown out by a mediocre Virginia tech.

Petrino just lost to a coach who was amazing his first year and already has wins over teams like FSU and Oklahoma.

And yes I would argue we have a better overall roster than Petrino. Richt has underachieved. Petrino has overachieved. There's a difference.

Any team that Petrino has ever been with will tell you he is a corch in many different ways.

Like when Louisville was ranked top 10 in the conference USA. Or when Arkansas was ranked top 10 playing in the toughest division in college? Who was it, Western Kentucky fans?

Dude was ran out of Arkansas after wrecking cycle with his blonde recruiting coordinator on the back, dude snuck out of Atlanta without even addressing players he was leaving, secretly met with Au urn when Gus was in trouble while telling Louisville he was in love with them. Yeah kind of guy anyone would want their kids to play far.

This thread is not about him being a nice guy or a douche.

He is a major douche, but an excellent coach.

Saban, Urban and Belicheat are all a-holes, but they are all great Head Coaches.

J.J., Dennis, Butch and Schnelly were not nice guys. They were hard nosed dudes that knew that they were paid to win.

Richt is a nice guy, but in this business nice guys finish last.

Being a blind homer will NOT change that fact.

The difference is all the coaches you listed were respected. Everywhere Petrino goes the roster eventually turns on him. I can't wait till Vick tells Jackson about his experiences with Petrino in Atlanta.
