Would you prefer I create a sketch comedy of the last week of CIS having a completely different take on 2024 than 2023 because we are on the **** end of the stick?

Being left out of the playoffs
Fears of bowl game opt outs / blow outs
Astonished by UF's high end recruiting class off a 7 win season
HS recruiting class in the teens
"Need to hit the portal hard or we are screwed"

The reactions, overreactions and spin is really something.

I still remember McGahee’s injury in the championship game. He was going to be a top 3-5 pick back then.
That was a championship game.

For a meaningless bowl game? No thank you - if I’m the coaches, I thank Cam, Arroyo and DM for their service, wish them well and apologize for not doing my part.

Someone said bypass the bowl game altogether. I wouldn’t be opposed. With a 12 team playoff (soon to be 14 teams), the number of bowl games need to shrink significantly imo. Go back to the days where there were only 6-7 bowl games.

maybe as a fan, but coaches want the extra practices for the development of the younger guys. I could understand that perspective. You think guys like Trader and Carr, Lofton, Williams, Lyle, Popo, Day, OJ, Lightfoot, Scott, Blount, etc. wouldn't want to play most of or an entire game against a decent team vs mop up duty?

I understand all that. I also understand that we aren't opting out of a bowl game. I simply think it will suck. Like kissing your cousin. With tongue. Outside of Gainesville of course.

Idk - Ward, maybe, depends on the matchup (if against Shedeur, my guess is he’s in).

Outside of Ward and maybe Martinez (most RBs are mid rounders anyway and have a higher chance of injury), MOST of our remaining guys can actually benefit by playing to increase their respective draft positions. Arroyo-Rivers-Restrepo-Martinez?-Baron-Barrow-Kiko-Meesh-Porter…am I missing anyone…
 
Bowl games are fun for the players. Last year's team got to visit NYC before getting skull****ed by Buttgers. Even the trips to El Paso offer some enjoyment and exposure to new cultures. I think it would suck for them to play in the Pop Tarts bowl in Orlando because they can go to Orlando any time. As a player I'd rather wind up in the Fenway, Pinstripe, Military Bowls.

One game is going to improve their draft profiles? I think that is a massive stretch of the imagination.
