I think the light came on!

Bring Lance Legendre down. He can be this year’s Jarren Williams (except he’s not currently committed to a basketball school)

I don’t think Urban lasts the season. We’ll probably get Battle...Dent is something to keep an eye on too.
This is exactly my read on the situation currently. If this defense continues to improve and this team in general does the same and plays to its potential it is highly likely that we land Battle.

The really interesting development here is the one with Dent. He was at The Rock on Saturday and you can't help but get the feeling the kid is intrigued by UM and is in the process of taking another good look at us. Many have speculated that it is only a matter of time before Alabama lures him in but I believe that Dent sees the opportunity to make an immediate impact here for the home team. We can expect an unrelenting full court press for Mr. Dent over the next 3 months. We are not out of this by a longshot.

Why do we have to take “a project” at QB? Find an excellent HS QB who is very good at playing QB who isn’t a camp warrior or a physical Adonis. Mid-majors do it all the time.

We don’t need a “project;” we need our offensive coaches to properly evaluate the QB prospects available.

I said a few months ago that we should be looking at Toledo and the other solid mid majors QBs to find a smart accurate kid. Boise State has a 4 star kid with some lower level P5 offers.

Question ,does the redshirt rule only apply to freshmen, or can soph,jr,and Sr's that only play in 4 games be redshirted?

Class doesn't matter. There was a report early last week that the plan with Jalen Hurts at Bama is for him to redshirt.

Teams like Toledo have been doing that forever. Look at a dude like Woodside. Smart kid with good tools who was accurate and good at playing QB but wasn’t physically impressive coming out of HS. He grew and got stronger and became a top college QB who was, by far, better than any QB we’ve had here since Dorsey.

Those are the type of kids you want. The smart and accurate qbs who with time can master a playbook and allow playmakers to be playmakers always work. Problem is idk if they've ever found a kid like that in this class and im worried they may force a kid they aren't that confident in

Ya know a lot of these guys get caught up with these dudes with NFL potential. Stop worrying about NFL potential. I only care if he can get the job done. Kansas won with a 5’9 midget, OU QB’s have forever been guys who wouldn’t cut it in the league, Auburn played for a title with a CB playing QB. If that guy is the 5* with tools then ok or if he’s a guy that’s not highly ranked but he wins like Buckshot Calvert then ok. Too many guys with the tools fail while the guy who wins, puts up numbers, but is 6 foot or can’t throw the ball 55 yards with zip usually outdoes their perceived value.

There are certain programs, when they're recruiting a certain position you should pay attention. It's not that you aspire to be said program, but they have a knack for uncovering talent were others don't see it, or recruiting services have miscalculated it. NC State and DL comes to mind as well.

I think coaches fall in love with arm talent because it’s something you can’t teach (like speed) yes it’ll get marginally better as they get older but not significant. Most coaches think they can teach the “football IQ” and that’s where they fall into a trap.

I say get a smart kid and maximize his physical abilities and you’ll have a player you can win with. Especially with the way our team will be constructed going forward with top notch playmakers at the skill positions.
