I Know Most Here Had Some Unsavory Things to Say About Him

Like Berrios, I think people are expecting a little too much out of Sam Bruce right away. Both will be good as upperclassmen, but they're not the dominate from Day 1 types a lot of people expect. Bruce looks like a more aggressiveness, physical Berrios to me.

Bruce has way too much side to side motion for me to be a great return guy. I'd like to keep Elder and Coley on returns, and please no more Mark Walton.

I think a few people have said it already...but the thing about Bruce that makes him special is that he's a hyper-competitive Alpha type of guy. He doesn't back down, he stays aggressive and fired up. He's a bad man, he's always on the attack.

He doesn't have the straight-line speed that Santana Moss had, but Moss was similar in stature and was also an Alpha type. His mentality was balls to the wall, 24/7/365. Bruce has similar qualities...and that means a lot, especially when you are a bit undersized. Having that chip on your shoulder can let your talent shine through regardless of any height disadvantage he may have at times.

You know what a lot of really good offensive players have in common? The Steve Smiths, Marshawn Lynchs, Frank Gores, Kellen Winslows Jrs, etc? They play offense with a defensive mentality. They play with speed & precision, but play with aggression and a love for contact as well. I think one can argue that Bruce has that trait as well.
 
I see Berrios and Bruce as very similar prospects. People weren't hating on Berrios when he ran the fastest shuttle time at The Opening. Don't forget the kid tore his ACL right before enrolling and then got hurt again early this season. If he can stay healthy I think he'll be pretty productive.

Well said! We got 3 premier Wr's in this class. Although we could have used a couple more to meet the numbers game, as in your point we got 3 very talented WR's. As my daddy used to say, "You go to work with the tools you got". We got plenty to hold us over till we can get back to the 2017 grocery store. Lets start appreciating what we got.
