Hunter Knighton Out For The Year

King may not be tall but he has long arms and has one of the highest bench presses on the team.

This is not a serious issue at all. Kingston, Gall, and Sonny were all going to redshirt so those guys being injured really does not change anything. We are returning our full offensive line rotation form last year with the exception of only 1 player Lewis. Also we will get Danny Isidora back in 6-8 weeks.

O Line Depth Chart
LT
Ereck Flowers
Malcolm Bunche

RT
Seantrel Henderson
Taylor Gadbois

LG
Brandon Linder
Malcolm Bunche

RG
Jon Feliciano
Hunter Wells

C
Shane McDermott
Jared Wheeler

Linder is playing RG, Feliciano LG.

And while your lineup might be how they do it in practice, in game situations it should be pretty simple:

L to R: Flowers, Feliciano, McDermott, Linder, Henderson are the probably the starters (maybe there is a battle between Feliciano and Bunche). Bunche can play both OT and OG spots off the bench. Wheeler can play OG or C.

Outside those 7 guys I don't think anyone was expecting any other OL to get serious minutes anyway (although Isadora was a candidate). Isadora was probably #8, Gadbois #9.

Odogwu, Knighton, Gall were all probably going to RS anyway. An injury or 2 to the top 7 and then its time to worry.

Rok- are you trolling about this King to OL? If not, its pretty ridiculous.

Get well soon kid. He was a redshirt this year anyway, but still hate to see an injury like this.

Other injury news:

-Sonny Odugwu has a knee (maniscus) injury and will be out a few days
-Alex Gall has an infection in his hand but it is not considered serious
-Danny Isidora out 6-8 weeks with a broken foot
-Golden said "I do not feel good about our offensive line"[/QUOTE]

But I thought Kehoe was the best and we were 2-3 deep at all positions?

Congratulations.

**** *** post of the day. Doesnt even make any ****ing sense.

Thanks. Do I get one of your pom poms for that? Or does that make you cry too?

Folks have been raving about how deep the OL is. Kehoe fans always remind us how great he is and that he finally has some players to work with. So what's the problem? Some dudes who prolly wouldn't get major minutes are tweaked?

Where is the justification for the "don't feel good about our OL" remark? I swear, some of you ladies have the 30day menstrual cycles going full fledge and the season hasn't even started yet.

Relax focker, it's just a message board.

You sounding like a moron has nothing to do with me or anyone else. But if you knew that we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.

I'm through trolling now that the season is underway. My reasoning for wanting to move King is because I don't think we really need him at DT this year.

We have a ton of guys who can play DT:

Porter
Robinson
Renfrow
Pierre
Hamilton
Kamalu
Moore
Derosier*

Next year we're bringing in Stuckey and Valentine and likely a couple more so move him to OL now and make him an insurance policy/scout teamer.

He won't ever see time on the OL, plus he doesn't have the size. He was bad last year at DT but let him develop there. He has a better chance contributing at DT then he does on the OL.

Also, people take coach speak way to serious.

I don't agree, at least not right now. In typical Golden fashion there were some folks up north calling Knighton an absolute steal, and talking about the job Golden did getting him. Might take time but he seems to have those qualities that have been common in some of our under the radar commits.

Diego,

I don't think he would see time either, but we're losing an OL to injury each day. If Golden doesn't move him to OL I want him fired.

This doesn't make much sense for a few reasons:

1. We may need him next year at DT, so why not have him continue to get reps at the position?

2. How much can Valentine be relied on to put in meaningful burn as a freshman?

3. How much can we count on King at OL this year if we need him?

While I agree we likely don't need him at DT THIS YEAR, my guess is that the best way he can help the team in the future is remaining at DT. Next year we lose at least Porter and Robinson (and Renfrow), we could also lose Pierre. We will need some younger guys to continue to develop to replace the elders. He can continue to get reps there in practice and waiting for his opportunity to play. I understand you are concerned about numbers on the OL but how much can King really help out?

Wait wait wait.... "I do not feel good about the offensive line" does not sound like something Golden would say. Even if we lost all o-lineman, he'd say something about other people stepping up and such.

Forgot about Courtel Jenkins.

Just move King to OL now before I get upset

Well ****. That settles it

Jonathan Cooper is 6'2 311...Corey King is 6'0 290 i'd say. That picture does nothing for me...add to it..Cooper likely drove King back 5 yds on that play. Corey King is what he is...a dl that likely is in the rotation for the next 2 years..noting about him says ol to me...heck hes a borderline dt prospect here...strength numbers be damned.

Sean Harvey and Paul Kelly ourt long snapper will likel have to do for now....need some mre walk on lineman by next week when school starts i guess.

Man i really dont think it's that serious.... the only 2 Offensive Lineman thats out is Hunter Knighton for the year and Isidora for 8 weeks....

Isidora is coming back, Gall just needs some antibiotics for his hand, and Odogwu just has to walk it off for a couple days and he'll be back ready to go.

I'm not saying I want King to see the field as an OL. I want him to be scout teamer so that Kelly and Harvey don't have to do it all by themselves.

Yeah I think Golden was probably just a little frustrated since pretty much every OL he has recruited the last two years for depth purposes is unavailable at the time. They could be getting valuable experience right now being in there with the vets.

I believe this is the case. 2 of the guys coming back are true freshman (Sonny and Gall) and returning soon, then one joining us midway through the season (Isadora).

Isadora might have been the most likely to get actual playing time this year.
