How you spend your money

No such thing as overpaying.
Agree with this a million percent. Allocate a budget for 3 five stars a year that are can’t miss players, then try to eval on the rest. Look at what Elijah griffin is doing at the UA game practices…

you let Jojo walk he isn't JS or you start spending real money and not be cheap. But sometimes I think the overpay excuse is cope by the fan base
You ignored what I said. Pancake is a real world option. Miami paid him a ton to not do a **** thing and I can guarantee you the other lineman that are starting are getting hefty pay increases as a result. Miami doesn't have unlimited funds so that is money that could have been used elsewhere.

then no one should complain when we aren't fielding elite teams and looking for someone to blame. Its a money issue then when we want the difference makers.

5* can't miss like Pancake or Leonard Taylor?
No, people knew both those guys were super flawed and weren’t can’t miss. Pancakes played against terrible competition. LT was known to have a bad work ethic. You can see how good he’s been as a rookie for the Jets. James Williams played out of position, would look more like Jihaad Campbell if he played lb and put on the weight

If you're saying the money could have been used elsewhere are you saying we knew he wasn't gonna pan out at this point???
I mean I get that he hasn't but that's just part of the gamble... If we knew then why even sign him in the first place??? The problem is Mario not hitting at a high enough rate on his picks... But I mean you gotta shoot your shot at whoever is the hot guy for the moment....
At the time of his recruitment Pancake was "The Dude" everyone wanted ..... and we got him and it was a big moment for us....

Instead of spending money on a bunch of JAGs (which we have) imagine a world where you gave an extra $600k to Smith and Stewart or Simmons. It’s always 20/20 in retrospect but those were huge moves that could have been done.

Those two would have made up for Guidry.
Except we were not outbid for Jeremiah

I'm saying he's a cautionary tale on offering anyone a blank check b/c we aren't Oregon/Ohio St/Texas/Texas A&M

For a 20 million roster Id expect a lot more than just 2 first rounders and maybe 3 day 2 picks out of 85 people.

I hear ya... but again he was a 5 star and if the opportunity was there to get him we went for it.... Sure I want better evals and all that but you still gotta go for it when it comes to big fish....
I'm not knocking your point, just trying to point out it's more of Mario developing the pics he makes as opposed to the effort of getting the pics.... If we did the Samson recruitment 10x over I would still want him all 10 times....
We didn't know then how he would turn out..... All we knew was we wanted him...

Like I’ve posted in other threads. You either have the money and don't want to spend it or you don’t have it and your lying about it.

DMoney said everyone has a budget but apparently our budget isn’t the same.
All these insiders and podcasters say money isn't a problem.

From the looks of it, money ain’t a problem if you want to barely make the acc championship but apparently it’s a problem if you want to be one of the final 4 teams.
You pay what you have to for a J smith, Jeudy, Cooper etc.
You pay what you have to for a Dylan Stewart.
Yes, we’ve gotten some dudes but it’s not gonna be enough.

Even Mario knows this.

I’m just ****ed because I’m sick and tired of watching dudes that played youth ball down here be the difference on other teams. Not make plays, not win awards, not be all conference. Be the **** difference! Be the reason they keep winning! Remember when Amari was like 70 percent of bamas offensive yards halfway through the season? That’s what I’m talking about.
Osu is simply not the same team today without J smith. Point blank period!!!!

I’m just upset right now so I’m venting.
But it’s just plain sacrilegious to see J Smith ball out on of all teams osu. It makes me sick to my **** stomach.

Idgaf and neg me all you want. X is nowhere near j smith and if he was on this team we would still be playing regardless of safety play or dc.
X and smith on the same offense with cam would’ve been all time cfb. Joe Burrow lsu on steroids type of sht.

The difference is Jeremiah Smith Is a generational talent
Great, no way in **** Miami was bidding $5 million and Ohio State wouldn’t believe, anyway. We’ll pay $5 million to Smith and have Emory or Poff struggling to get him the ball, cause can’t also pay Cam.
