How you finish...

I think most people before the season expected or hoped for a 10 win season and the Coastal division title. But when you are sitting 10-0 finishing 10-3 is a kick in the nuts.

We got lucky in beating FSU and GT should never have lost to Pitt and if not for that awful INT that completed flipped the Whisky game we might still be sitting 10-3 just with different W and L.

This roster was a top 15 team roster and it showed. There are a lot of holes that Richt had to fix and he has done a **** good job to get Miami headed in the right direction. Think about it, it’s the first 10 win season in 15 years and 1st coastal title EVER! That’s just but how bad our program was for so long. Can’t change it all over night.

I think a lot of us fans didn't want to believe how bad of a program we actually were the last 15 years. We didn't want to face it but we were bad.

This guy ever clear up if he's a Klansman or not?
He hasn't like KkkaneOil, *******, Ivan, Hemsley, Gator, Chuckles, etc, etc, etc all have.
And there is no need for him to since his posts have nothing to do with that. Folks need to get over his screen name and concentrate on content.
Or ignore his threads and stop derailing them.
Every thread he brings up will get derailed.

And rightfully should.

You can cover for him if you want.

He said he wasn't in that last thread. He said he was born in Cuba and came here at 3 in a lengthy paragraph. I asked about the year 1964. I'm not pushing it. I'm not looking to witch hunt someone. I just found the name concerning and his lack of previous responses about it didn't help.

he mentioned the significance of 1964 in a previous post in that thread. was just a big sports year for him in his youth

That is one **** of a coincidence. Coupled with the first part of the screen name, it seems a bit too coincidental. Hopefully, there is nothing to it. It's just very, very suspect.

I will also add, the fact that he said he is Cuban definitely makes his explanation more believable, because a true white supremacist would NEVER say he/she is Cuban, not even under the most extreme circumstances, let alone providing clarity to members of a message board.

Stfu, I got higher degrees hanging in my office than you'll ever sniff a whiff of.
Of course, that's why you had to be spoonfed the obvious. Makes sense. Btw, there is no "Degree" for IQ/Critical thinking...but then I suppose you not knowing that fits ;-).

Yep, the expectation that we suddenly lock down SF is unrealistic.
Keep winning, keep the trajectory pointed upward and that might change.

There are plenty of critical theory/thinking courses and degrees that lead one in that direction. So again, stfu and stop swinging when you keep missing.

The real issue is not keeping the top level talent at home at a position which has been a need for forever. S FL is the skills posiion capital of the U.S. Ivey is the only true CB in this class right now. I bet Frierson ends up at Safety. We need at least one of Campbell/Surtain after losing 2 to graduation and Injury this year. Everybody knows Bethel is a reach.

Now add the issues recruiting top level talent at DT. The 2 we had weren’t ev n the best in this conference and they are gone. With the gaping hole we have you would think kids would kill somebody to be here. It just doesn’t see to be the case. Chatman and Briggs are develmental DT’s. They are not ready to plug and play. Nesta is the only one that could be ready to plug and play. Everybody, including our coaches, should have seen DT as an issue with the knowledge both Norton/RJ could leave. They should have got more than 1 last year because DT is a position where strength and development is so important.

Depth is a potential issue at DE and TE this year as well. Any injury to a starter and we are in a predicament again this year.

If you want to play with the big boys like Clemson and Bama then recruiting in a timely manner for development and depth must be better at specific positions. There are always some hits and misses in recruiting, recruiting the proper #’s is urgent. DJ is a miss because he didn’t want to move in inside. What if a guy like Ford is a miss? We are counting on Ford to be a starter this year.

People a t like others are crying over spilled milk when in all actuality the line of thinking is so this team eventually makes it to elite level. None of us want to permanently be stuck as a 10 win team that never gets over the top. Thus far that is what Richt has been his entire career. These are the types of issues that must be addressed if he wants to be elite.

I have a dream that my fellow posters will one day live in a Cane nation, where they will not be judged by assumed double meanings behind their screen name, but by the content of their character and posts.

Dunning-Kruger is a heck of an effect ;-).
You were wrong, but there is no way for you to be cognizant of why

...is kinda of a big deal... 2016 we won 9 games. Including our last 5. This past year we won more games, 10. But Lost our final 3. I’m hoping we finish strong to get this bad taste out my mouth from what I now see as a good, respectable year, but not a great year. Same thing in recruiting. We already have a top 10 class. So I’m real happy about that. But how do we close? I’ll put it out there. If we don’t land at least one of Campbell and or Surtain, I’ll feel just like I did after losing our last 3 games. And until we start to finish and land the VERY Best like the big boys do, we won’t won’t truly be in the discussion.

Get someone to take you fishing.

Then come back and tell me you caught them ALL.

When will yall learn **** like this doesnt matter recruiting is a whole separate entity then coaching its 2 completely different things. Kids dont go "omg they lost 3 straight im not going there".....................some people should just watch the game and not follow recruiting. How many times on separate occasions with different teams and all over cfb where teams dont win a **** thing and start to close because of the coaches in place.

One has nothing to do with the other, all u kept hearing all offseason was if miami won 10 we would clean house and thats not true because theres different factors like relationships bags and so on.

People forget just how limited we are in the bag game compared to other schools. Obviously that’s not the end all be all but that’s a significant advantage for programs.

Michael Fay is triggered by your view of a cane nation. He is also triggered by your and many other people's screen names on here. How can you all be so insensitive?

When you are out of the championship discussion for 15 years and other programs within a days drive of your prime recruiting area have developed superior programs, win multiple championships and some even are considered dynasties, you’re going to struggle to sign the cream of the crop. I’ve heard the excuses, like “we can’t get them all.” No kidding. I’m talking about the best of the best. The Dalvin Cooks, the Amari Coopers, the Calvin Ridleys, the Boza brothers, the Jerry Jeudys, should I go on, ... the elite of the elite. Someone smarter than me tell me what % of these elite kids have we signed in the last 3-4 years. Just speaking the truth here that’s all. Not dumping on CMR. His job is tough enough. And I believe he will eventually turn this trend around. But he DOES have to change things. And when that happens then we’ll be in the discussion again.

Every recruit knows what we all know. Better QB play and we win 12 games. 13 had we played Ark State. They also know Perry and Williams are due to battle it out for the starting job. I seriously doubt any recruit said, "Oh man, Miami lost 3 straight, I'm not going there!" More like, "Miami is just a couple players away from the playoffs."

Any DL recruit that doesn't pick Miami for a "better opportunity" is either STUPID, AFRAID, or both.

Stupid cause they can't read a depth chart to see they are in the 2 deep in '18 so long as they beat out the other freshmen.
Afraid cause they have to be good enough to play in '18.
Both cause they think taking money to sit in '18 and leave after '20 is easier money.

Since the Duke Johnson/T Howard class, we have signed only 1 of the 247 composite top 5 rated recruits that play in south florida per year. It isn't going to be easy, but we need to do better. And before anyone says it, this is based on rankings not necessarily my opinion.

2013 - Stacey Coley
2014 - Chad Thomas
2015 - Mark Walton
2016 - Sam Bruce
2017 - Navaughn Donaldson
(pending) 2018 - Nesta Silvera

The trend could obviously change this class, but it depends on landing the AH corner backs to do it.

So guilty until proven innocent.
Ok, it's a low IQ/critical thinking skills rationalizing thing, but I get it. Luckily sensible people crafted laws otherwise.

So if I change my name to HitlerMcNi**erKiller I deserve the benefit of the doubt?

This isn't a court, it's the fcking internet. Problem these days is that people don't know the difference.
