How you finish...

...is kinda of a big deal... 2016 we won 9 games. Including our last 5. This past year we won more games, 10. But Lost our final 3. I’m hoping we finish strong to get this bad taste out my mouth from what I now see as a good, respectable year, but not a great year. Same thing in recruiting. We already have a top 10 class. So I’m real happy about that. But how do we close? I’ll put it out there. If we don’t land at least one of Campbell and or Surtain, I’ll feel just like I did after losing our last 3 games. And until we start to finish and land the VERY Best like the big boys do, we won’t won’t truly be in the discussion.

The most notable thing to me is, the offense has elite recruiters. The defense has a lot to prove but they seem to not follow stars as much as they follow who fits their scheme and body types. I’m going to give Diaz and Kool a chance to show that they can turn these 3 stars into legit college players.

I think most people before the season expected or hoped for a 10 win season and the Coastal division title. But when you are sitting 10-0 finishing 10-3 is a kick in the nuts.

We got lucky in beating FSU and GT should never have lost to Pitt and if not for that awful INT that completed flipped the Whisky game we might still be sitting 10-3 just with different W and L.

This roster was a top 15 team roster and it showed. There are a lot of holes that Richt had to fix and he has done a **** good job to get Miami headed in the right direction. Think about it, it’s the first 10 win season in 15 years and 1st coastal title EVER! That’s just but how bad our program was for so long. Can’t change it all over night.

And they may turn 3 stars into legit players, as you said, but if they whiff on the 4 And 5 stars, then there's a real problem in that they couldn't land who they wanted with playing time available.

From an outsiders perspective, it is a little concerning that we “may” not get all of who we want at DL and CB when the depth chart is so thin. The staff does deserve credit for Hall, Frierson and Ivey.

We still have a ways to go but as 2017 proved, Miami is capable of suddenly coming up and making everyone pee themselves. We weren’t even good yet but game within one game of the playoffs. Bama, Clemson and the others are products of long building projects. Miami is more of a atomic thing, critical mass will suddenling be reach and BAM, we are the champions again.

When Nesta didn't sign in Dec. I wrote him off. Maybe he comes and maybe he doesn't but either way he just became part of the American Heritage conundrum. Think about it. Most of the quality players signed early with their colleges leaving a precious few quality prospects to round out rosters. Four of those players were at The same high school AH. You could say that AH has been the epicenter of late recruiting. This is going to be a dogfight to the end. I guess we can spin it favorably at this point. We are in the mix with some really big players Bama, OSU, Ga. LSU. We should be. We were one game away from competing for the national championship.Supposedly we get the last visit. If that happens then we have a good shot. If they are still undecided going into the weekend staying home and playing before their families is the natural default.
