How good is Richards?

Amen, we have to stop letting the difference makers continue to get away. We did it again with Byrd this year.

I was not at all happy with the way we closed in 2016, but that's because I had big expectations unfortunately. But to say we did it again and point to Byrd is disingenuous. It happened with one guy we had that was truly elite. Folden and Dorito would've found a way to lose Bruce, Richards, Bethel, one of the LB's, etc.

We got a few impact players in this class that we wouldn't have gotten the last 10 years. And we didn't reach for their replacements like we have been.

LOL @ Ridley's age being the reason he embarrasses people in the SEC.

Come on man, embarrassing people? With an 11.7 avg he is embarrassing SEC defenses? He is the benefactor of playing 15 games a 2219 yard Brink Truck and the recipient of 126 targets. He had 7 games where he avg less than 10 ypc and avg 69 yards a game on the season. That is 1 more yard a game than Coley avg. Coley had half the chances as Ridley. Played in 5 fewer games and had 61 fewer balls aimed his way.

I don't care how old the dude is or care that he went to Bama over Miami. The nut swallowing convention up in this thread over a dude that had 126 balls thrown his way in 15 games is overboard.

I bet if Coley had 126 balls tossed his way and played 15 games. People wouldn't be busting a nut to down play him every chance they can.
Exactly. Ridley is a great player but he's no better than Coley. They're pretty much the same guy. Ridley was the beneficiary of being the main target in an offense that beat people to death with a bulldozer, sucked Safeties into the box, then went over their head with deep shots to Ridley. He also played 30 games, so 1000 yards is a little less impressive.

I was about to post but then I checked through the thread. You basically said what I was going to say. So... This.

They are the equivalent of each other. Who was Ridleys comparison coming out? Stacy Coley.

Stacy Coley played for a BUM OC. Extremely underused. Got his sophomore year wasted. Had a great freshman year and then a junior year considering he sat practically the first 4 games with an injury.

Ridley playing for college footballs best coach and was targeted a ridiculous number of times. Wish Coley would have had that many chances.

If we had an OC and a HC with a brain for the last 3 years. Coley wouldn't even be on the team this year, he's going to benefit a lot from a coach who actually knows what he's doing. Best thing the kid did was coming back for a year under a legitimate staff.

Not discrediting Ridley but they are just as talented as each other. One has a real coach, the other finally got a real coach.

Just FYI. Stacy Coley led the ACC in receiving yards for only ACC games.... Funny cause the only games he actually played was FSU onwards.(He missed the first 4) Which was all conference games from FSU to Pitt. This is all considering the fact that he was underused as well.

He's due for a big year. No way around it. Dude got screwed out of a reverse for a TD and game winning TD catch because of two idiotic Holding calls in the bowl.

Can't wait for what a real coach can do with a talent like that.

Where do you think Richards stands among the wrs mentioned?

Too early to say. All hypothetical what anyone opinion is on it.

75 percent of this board is about hypotheticals. Without hypotheticals, there is no board.
Just sayin'...All in good fun...
