Just curious; how do you support the Miami Hurricanes? Hopefully this thread doesn't turn into a *****fest but I'm just curious how everyone supports their favorite team? Do you have season passes? Do you go to the games? Do you tailgate? Are you in the Hurricane Club? Do you cover yourself in green/orange glitter on game days? Do you The U on your car? Do you dress your kids up in Canes gear? Was your wedding cake in the shape of the Miami Orange Bowl? If you don't live close enough to go to the games, is there a certain way you always try to support the Canes? I live on the other side of the planet so I try to find ways to support the Canes in my own way so it would be interesting to hear how everyone does it.

I'm the tennis coach at my school here in Japan and I've taught my students how to do The U and when we take group photos we always flash The U now. They seemed OK with it until I showed a picture of Andy Murray flashing The U during one of his visits to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center for some training. Ever since then, they are more than eager to flash The U when we take pics. Just one example of how I spread The U. Very interested in what everyone else does.

I eat homemade wings off a plate that has a Miami logo on. They're quite tasty.

Want the recipe?

Seriously though, that's a cool thing you do.

I used to boast that I was the only guy in Asia who made his students do The U until a guy in China showed me a pic of him doing the same thing with his students. LOL. The U is worldwide.

My family has had football season tickets since the 1950s, and now I have them. Even though I live in Tennessee, I have football season tickets. I try and go to 2 home games a year (I only went to the UF game this year) and at least 1-2 road games since I'm in the middle of ACC country (it's getting harder with a 21 month old though). When I don't go to games, I make sure my family that still lives in Miami goes, or someone in South Florida uses my tickets. Going to be honest, I couldn't find anyone to go to the UVA game last year. I'm also a Hurricane Club Member. My family had basketball season tickets when I was growing up, first at the Knight Center, and then at the Miami Arena. I had them for a year after college when I moved back to Miami, but not since, though I go see them play GT every time they play in Atlanta.

Believe or not, there a decent number of Miami fans in Chattanooga, and so we have no problem getting together to watch the games every weekend.

I post a lot on message boards, occasionally I send mean tweets to recruits. Sometimes I call radio stations.

I also like to talk to coworkers about games every once in a while.

Our family goes to most of the home games, CanesFest every year, we buy everything hurricanes, donate money, Hurricanes Club and we go down to the Gables for some away games. I think we have two topics outside of family life in my home, work and The []_[]. We did not attend the university. We always say "we left Canes and came home Canes". There is no more special program to cheer for. Lastly, we are patient and know that The []_[] will rise again. It's a when, not an if. :stormwarning:

Families had season tix since the 70's, and they were going to games before that, back when they played on Fridays. Hurricane club member, haven't missed a home game since '81. Baseball season tix for 15 years, stopped baseball when I moved from Miami.
Had a dog named "Cane", was going to name my youngest "Sebastian"
If it was a boy. Miami plates on both my cars etc., etc.

The instant children show up, I quit my loud cussing of Dorito and Golden.

Takes a lot of effort, I'm telling you.

Top that.

Lets see we live almost 4 hours away. We have had family season tickets for over 20 years and have raised 6 new canes fans. Have brought many new canes fans to their first games. We also make a weekend of it many games attending home soccer/volleyball games and our youngest son has had his birthday at baseball games the past couple years. We attend every sporting event the Canes play in Central Florida area. We have Um tags and vanity plates on our cars and the kids cars. Donate to canes club, youngest kids are members of the kids cane club. Attend canes fest, spring games etc. :neonu:

I'm 7800 miles away from Coral Gables, so going to game is of course impossible. I've returned to the States only once in the last eight years so my fanship is strictly long-distance. I'm a member of the Hurricane Club. I bought one of those personalized bricks to have installed in the new Shwartz Center. When there is a game, I usually get up at anywhere from 2am to 4 am on Sunday mornings to watch the games online. I have the U on my desk where I work. The Japanese sometimes ask me what it is. I also bought two tickets for the bowl game and Chris Freet had a lottery held for them. Two students won the tickets and were able to go to the game. And for that I am truly, truly sorry.
