Jacory and SteMo are statically the 2nd and 3rd best/Most productive Miami Hurricanes QBs in history?

Neither of them won a god **** thing.

I don't care how many yards or TDs they threw for because in 10 years no one will be talking about those losers.

just shows how absolutely stubborn some coaches can be.

nobody cares about yards....this aint the NFL. Its all about wins. That's why Dorsey, Walsh, etc come to mind first when people think of Miami QBs.

same could be said for Hankerson and Hurns with their 1,000 yard seasons ... both good players, but certainly not two of the best WR's to ever play the position at Miami.

our best receivers besides moss and wayne never stayed all 4 yrs

This is why the game has passed Golden & D'Ono right by. They don't know how to stop teams that spread you out. Period.

We can look decent at times against traditional offenses... but any mediocre spread offense gashes the middle of the field, underneath routes, SG dives, and Read option.
It's a #s game these days and those 2 can't figure out how to get their speed on the field to defend it.

Evolution of the game leading to more inflated passing #s. That's how I see it

Exactly. It is an insight into the changes in the style of play over the years. Go back fifty years in college football and do you think a QB like Joe Namath wouldn't have thrown for 4000 yards in the offenses of today.

Tells me they started a lot of games and threw a lot of passes. Compare their TD/interception ratios and what they did in big games to the great UM QBs, and you'll see that they're not 2nd/3rd "best/most productive QBs in UM history". They're just two guys who threw for the 2nd and 3rd most yards.

Unfortunately this may have some merit.

Or the fact that both have played all 4 years that they have been at Miami. That many games = a lot of stats.

Irvin did. Lamar Thomas. I'm sure we have plenty of our top receivers that stayed all four years. Notably, Andre did not.

Of course, back then, a lot of these guys shared the stage with other athletes that took touches away from them. When you're Irvin and you have Blades, Periman, Bratton, etc., and when you're winning games (often comfortably), requiring less passing and less time on the field for you, you're going to get fewer opportunities.

Morris is helped by the fact that we haven't really huddled the last three years and, last year specifically, have run our offense at a much quicker tempo than we did when we ran a traditional pro-style offense. Quicker pace = more plays per game and when you add to that the passing-game friendly rules and officiating of today's game you get the type of inflated numbers we have seen recently
