How do we get Bud Foster?

On Jeff Brohm: "LOOK WHAT GOOD COACHING CAN DO WITH 3-STAR PLAYERS AND A NEW QB"

On Bud Foster: "HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH 3-STAR PLAYERS AND AN INJURED PASS RUSHER"

So Bud Foster isn't any good? I would say bull**** on that, he had major losses at every level of his defense many of which were kids they didn't expect to lose. Has this been his best defense absolutely not but let's look at what he's replacing.

I'm sure he was shocked by two things after last year: (1) last year's seniors wouldn't be coming back, and (2) Georgia Tech would come out running the triple option. No one could survive that.

So he planned on having 2 starting DB's kicked out of school, his starting DE kicked out of school, probably knew Tremaine Edmonds would be leaving early but still a tough player to replace?

Whatever, I'm not going to waste my time arguing with a guy that only seems to pop up when things are going bad.

But I thought we should have success no matter what weaknesses we have because we should be developing and game planning better than the other guy?

Whataboutism (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument.

Georgia Tech scored 14 points against Duke, at home, in their most recent game before last night. Duke is known for loading up on 4- and 5-star defensive players.
GT started a new QB last night who ran for 200 yards. Dude was their best runner. Duke had ‘t seen him. Let’s shut down GT before yappin. Like I said, we barely got past them last year.

Or it could be that you people react with polar opposite responses depending on who you're trying to defend. It's one of the more entertaining aspects of this board.

Why is his defense so bad right now?
Jaromir Jagr, this is really ignorant commentary. Bud Foster has been one of the best D Coords in the business for decades now. He, year in and year out, takes a roster much less talented than most other bigtime D1 programs and makes them a defense to be feared. They lost a whole bunch of guys last year and in the offseason, including catastrophic injuries all over the D. The narrative all summer coming into the season was what a challenge Bud was facing due to the lack of depth and youth he was going to have to play as a result. if you follow CFB outside of Miami at all you would have known this.

To take this year's performance by his D and try and cast a negative light on him is just foolish.

Yeah, new QB. And Foster probably thought they were going to come out with the Air Raid. When the dude started running option plays they had no answer.

Rutgers has a better defense.

Lol this thread was started when comparing No'D

But this old thread has been hijacked to now say Bud foster sucks due to having a bad year...

Bud foster has put up some very nice defenses that lack elite talent to make it dominant...

Bud foster like others have said already is dealing with an injury plagued roster that also had some top talent for them that they dont replace easily leave early for the league...

This is ridiculous. Bud Foster doesn't play the game, he calls the plays. Their defensive side of the ball is looking like UNC's entire team last year (which Rorcht barely survived against.) Every coach has down years or elements out of their control but he's a proven, elite DC.

Sheesh someone in their feelings ... you should make another thread after the game again and tell us how stupid we all are because you highlighted the game or bump a thread from the al golden era

The option, when ran correctly, is hard to stop. Especially with young players who despite coaching tend to not play assignment football. We tend to struggle with it as well. How we’ve beaten GT has been by scoring fast enough to take their ball control offense out of their game. In games we don’t do that we have needed luck (fumbles usually) to come up with a close win. VT’s offense last night did not do their defense any favors in the 2nd and 3rd quarters by going 3 and out just about every time they had the ball.

Last week it was: "Urban gets a pass for getting run out of the building by a 3-loss unranked team because he's won national titles."

This week it's: "Bud Foster gets a pass for getting run out of the building by a 4-loss unranked team that didn't complete a single pass the whole game because he's a great DC."

Please note that the bar is getting lower. Foster has never won a title as a DC, but he still gets a pass.

I dont think you guys are getting him. His point has nothing to do with Bud Foster....

If Bud Foster wore an orange and green shirt many on here would want his head on a stick. But becuase he wears the team colors of someone else common sense and rationality come back into play.

Bud FoRster is a football Gawd!!!!
