Yes, I know the defense was horrible, Mario made a questionable (dumb) call to go for a FG, George had a boneheaded play, and Restrepo fumbled, but the "hold" is still bothering me. We probably win if that's not called. Again, it doesn't matter, but I'm trying to think outside of the box on things or people to be upset at since everyone already took the obvious ones.

It wasn’t holding. It was a pancake.

Absolutely criminal that our best RB got 10 carries for 84 yards (and would have been 11 for 144 with that phantom holding call taken away), while Fletcher had 13 for 46.

Absolutely f’ing criminal. If I’m Martinez, if I’m not going pro - I’m hitting the portal. Sickening usage this season.

Bad call for sure but no telling if it was the difference. We could not stop their offense regardless. We were up by 21 at one point and could not hold it.

You can offset that with the illegal formation TD taken off the board for Syracuse.

PS: how ******* TERRIBLE was Harris on that play?

I mean, yeah, that was kind of bad, but at least one of the announcers said they agreed with the call.......but, let me vent here. Stop bringing reason into this.

Was a terrible call that had a big effect on the game. We would have had 1st and 10 inside the redzone. Probably had a 90+% chance to retake the lead had they not thrown the flag.

I know you can't say "if this happened, then this would have happened," but we score a TD to go up 35-28 there and probably win, especially if they fumble on the next series like they did. Of course, that would take X not fumbling too, but we were really close to going up 42-28 and this playing out like the Louisville game. Obviously that masks all of our other problems, but I would have taken it.

What point in game was this play and how many touches did Martinez get after it happened?

Trying to see , it felt like Martinez after this barely touched the ball

It was tied 28-28 with 7:40 left in the 3rd quarter. Martinez had 5 carries for 45 yards and a TD after the penalty. He had 5 carries for 39 yards before the penalty.

Not a hold

One of the biggest crimes, was Dawson not running more. Take away Cam's scrambles, and we ran the ball 27 times for 135 yards. That's without the 60 yard run called back which would have made it 28 for 195.

Vent about the call all we want, but we were losing the game regardless. The defense had absolutely no clue. We were fortunate enough Syracuse first touchdown on their opening drivers called back on a formation call.

Maybe we score on that drive, but then maybe Syracuse doesn’t fumble their next drive and scores. Evens out.

If you are a running back with NFL aspirations, you absolutely DO NOT WANT to carry the ball 20-25 times per game. Given the shelf life of RBs in the NFL, no one is salivating over drafting a college running back with 1,000 career carries.

Only so many bullets in that gun.
