Tears Hokie Tears

While driving today, I was listening to one of the programs/podcasts on a sirius xm channel. They were talking about a variety of things and eventually the Miami/VT game came up. I can't remember the name of the program, but one of the hosts said he couldn't believe they even called it a catch in the first place with absolutely 0 evidence to support that call.
That's the part that got me. Why was it ruled a catch to begin with? The official did not signal TD until well after the play. It was a UM player that ended up with the ball. At no point was there ever an indicator of the ball being secured all the way through contact with the ground. So it seems the official just decided after the fact to call it a TD despite no basis for doing so.

I feel like we've got a front row seat to a mass hysteria event.

I can't understand how anyone in their right mind views that as a catch. The person at fault here is the referee that ruled it a TD to begin with - he was unsighted at best and bent at worst.
Exactly. There is not a single frame-to-frame sequence in the entire replay that did not show the ball shifting around. Not a single of the required elements that define a catch was met.

Would hate to see how many tears would be flowing if they had a non fumble ruled as a fumble with video review and 2 separate safeties ruled 3-4 yards away from the spot of tackle all in the span of 3 games within like 4 weeks of eachother, if they're this up in arms about actual football rules.

Wild how many people formulate opinions and convince themselves it's factual because someone else thinks so, whilst ignoring the facts.

Also, an ACC golden child doesn't go almost 700 straight snaps with 0 holding penalties at ANY point in time. **** out of here.

Cry more about the Hail Mary VT...

The Cam fumble where his knee was DOWN - MAY take 7 off the board for them there since it was a short field
The Bell hold / non-hold - takes a TD off the board and next play is a pick, that is a 14 point swing
Illegal substitution on the 52 yard FG with TWO #17's on the field - should have rekicked and MAYBE he misses - 3 point off the board.

All shoulda, coulda, woulda I get it. But let's not act like that one call was somehow unfair. That above might make the game 21-0 or 21-3 after the Bell "hold". Changes the game completely

You just need to watch the first 5 mins. So tone deaf. “All of America is behind us”. They’re not. There’s a good part where they break down the every bad call for tech that game but acknowledge zero calls against Miami.

At least other college channels “try” to be objective. All they really did was talk **** about Miami as a team and program. Showed their true colors **** them and that bush league coach pry.

He made the 58 yard. The odds drop dramatically from 63 yards, especially since his career long was 47 before that. Pry wouldn't have attempted IMO.

I was watching NCSt game on CW on Saturday and an official explained the rule very clearly and said incomplete was the correct call. Both officials didn’t even see it and made a call after we were running with it. Admit your mistake and say we were unable to determine either way so we are going to have to go to video and clearly not a catch.
Amazing how we todd it these sak less turkeys are. I would have been more upset about a horsecollar tackle we made on Drones. Bottom line ACC officials are just terrible.

Semper Canes!!!

Same reason they called the fumble a fumble last year and denied both safeties last year as well. Same reason they marked Jacolby short earlier in this game. It’s harder to overturn something than it is to uphold the call in our favor.

My favorite part is they actually think they want the smoke in an ACC championship rematch. Game with a bunch of flukey turnovers, Bain & Rivers not playing, with a phantom hold that took a Miami TD off the board, where a VT win would have still required a Hail Mary incomplete to be incorrectly called complete, and they think they are working with something in this matchup.

Someone give me a thread of the media members acknowledging the right call was made.

number one if you're being completely biased if you can't look on the screen and see that the ball's moving okay you don't want Miami to win and you want an upset to happen Okay so you look at that and say hey the ball wasn't moving you can't overturn that no the ball was moving

replay review is but sometimes the call on field is the ref just kind of shrugging and making a call because it's literally his job that he has to he generally has no idea whether it was a catch or whether it was an inly pass he just has to make a call in situations like that go to the replay if the replay is telling you it wasn't a catch even if it's not inconclusive go with the correct call

They’ll lose at least 2 more games.

Ruffino and Joe are low key Miami fans. They’re always talking up Miami
