The qb is ok for what they do.

I mean you have Chaminade transferring in 4 qbs in one off szn it would be hard to keep the qb cupboard lol

They went up on chaminade and then did their usual conservative route...when chaminae oc is anything but conservative.

Chaminade hoarding some skill talent. They have 4 div 1 rbs...their 4th just happens to start at safety...but he has been one of Browards best rbs for szns at Mcarthur before he transferred to chaminade this year.

Typically a kid like Denarius Gray would of been at STA since sta usuallly hit sup delray/boynton for kids but becuase of 7 ON 7 hes been at chaminade since transferring.

If you can slow down STA's running game, and challenge their WR's on the outside, you have a shot. That's how we were able to keep it close. And suffice it to say, Chaminade is better than us up front and at CB... and their offense is loaded...
So that game wasn't a surprise to me.

Biggest thing I've noticed this year in South Florida high school football is the lack of consistency week to week, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Being STA and allowing Chaminade to score 29 points and run the ball for almost 400 yards is wild to me... especially considering we just played them and they ran for 2.9 a carry versus us and scored 17. They're NOT a smash mouth running team. They wanna throw it around the yard. Like... how are you struggling to stop the run at STA? Doesn't make sense.

What also doesn't make sense is the defensive performances by Chaminade and Heritage on a week-to-week basis. At one point Chaminade was giving up 30.6 PPG. And Heritage has been booboo on defense all season. Their offense keeps them in games.

It seems like these guys aren't tailoring game plans for specific opponents. They are just running what they want to, a grab bag if you will, and letting the chips fall where they may. You have to figure out what your opponent likes to do, and tailor a game plan to take those things away and make them go to plan-B. If you know that Chaminade likes to run counter and trap, you need to be tailoring a game plan to defend counter and trap. All week you need to be working guard reads with your linebackers and spill techniques with your defensive ends. Make your opponent go to something else. And if they beat you doing that, then kudos to them. It just wasn't your night.

What I'm seeing this year is that the private schools aren't loaded defensively and they are actually having to coach. And truthfully, these schools still have P4 commits on every level of their defense, so talent isn't an excuse.

They won't take accountability though. They'll just say it's a talent issue and recruit more kids.

THE BOLDED I 100 PERCENT AGREE WITH.

On to Chaminade...you know i coached with RO at Miramar. He wants to throw the ball around you 100 percent correct.

But they were down to the colorado Miami central transfer and he knows he had 4 div 1 rbs...i dont know if they even used Camari against yall at Western but you know he was Mcarthurs rb and got off everytime....so i figured this would be the game he unleashed all those backs. But your STA how do you even allow that because Chaminade does have good ol coaching but this isnt the ol bunch that they had with power 5 kids.

Like you stated though...its a grab bag of sh*t taking place these dudes really arent coachin ...and they will just run wit the talent level excuse and grab kids from schools like where your at and where i was at to replace their deficiencies.

Yeah fortunately that kid played defense against us. I had enough anxiety worrying about their stable of P4 WR's. 🙄

I think Ro does a good job, it's not just about having D1 talent with them. And their tempo is a killer. I think STA does a good job too but they don't seem to have the skill talent across the board that they're used to.

Defensively though...
Many of these programs leave a lot to be desired.

Retired now. The time period you mentioned was just before 2 state titles at Chaminade. He then moved over to Cypress Bay and took them to a state title game against Apopka.

Of note: His son is now the AD for a HS in the panhandle.

i think Norlands best wr this year is a STA transfer. Kid has looked good when i saw him i think he is a junior.

You are correct....At the wr spot...with AH and Chaminade hoarding them....their usually stable this year was down. Even last year with what Chaminade had...think about it Chance Robinson still was there. This year i think they got a FAU commit and some young guys out wide..

Yea the tempo ro does messes especially when you have that type of talent out wide and any given moment could be a 9 rout bomb on either side of the field. You bracket Gray and then all of a sudden they have their own version of Xavier Restrepo in J Lopez going crazy on you. Then you get lined up and they have a 215 pd running back running down hill smh.

Guys whatever happen to Joshua Townsend? I see there's a DB name Joshua Townsend at West Virginia but I'm not sure if thats the same one from Homestead. I can't find any info on him
