How was Central’s QB able to transfer to Chaminade?

The rules now allow you to transfer during the season?

he transferred from public to a private (chaminade)

Chaminade has had 4 qb transfer in:

Wright (cardinal gibbons)
Chance (Dillard)
Kutz (Tru North..transferred back)
Kitza (Miami Central)

and they beat STA the other day running the ball lol

Yeah they were dominant in the run game-Cooper and Hall were great.

I hope the Canes can land Cooper-

Kritza didn’t fit Central’s offense?

Chaminade beating STA just confirms what most of us who follow HS ball down here closely have known for 2 decades. Chaminade would've beaten STA most years, especially during the Guandolo era of the early 2000s'.
IM NOT SURE OF IT.

CHAMINADE WOULDNT BE COACHING AGAINST HARRIOTT BUT AGAINST GEORGE SMITH.

HARRIOTT IS ONE OF THE MOST CONSERVATIVE OFFENSIVE COACHES ITS LIKE WATCHING A BIG TEN TEAM PLAY WHEN WATCHING STA PLAY.

St Thomas had some really good teams if your going over the last 20 years-They had rosters littered with NFL players -Especially the year they won the national title-Chaminade had some great talent under Guandolo but, Dameon Jones has had even better talent especially from Dade county .

Whatever happen to Guandolo? I remember him from Southridge and then he was the one that built Chaminade up. My cousin played on his first year (maybe 2nd year) at Chaminade where they lost to Gulliver Prep in the playoffs. A young Sean Taylor running the ball all over Chaminade.

How about Miami Norland beating American Heritage 32-27?

"Norland senior Ennio Yapoor, one of the top quarterbacks in the state, delivered a strike to the back of end zone for Jade Card, who hauled it in for the score. The touchdown erased a one point deficit for the Vikings with just 24.5 second left in the football game. It stood for the game winner."

Retired now. The time period you mentioned was just before 2 state titles at Chaminade. He then moved over to Cypress Bay and took them to a state title game against Apopka.

Of note: His son is now the AD for a HS in the panhandle.

Coach G would've coached circles around Smith back in the day. Don't forget, STA had a huge State Championship drought while Smith was there, losing to Lakeland repeatedly.

One thing I have noticed with STA recently is the lack of a big time QB. Zion Turner was pretty good but they seem to be trotting out the big donor's son too much lately.

Even at Uschool, Roger had Sean and Mike White.

I don't know why people think the current STA Quarterback isn't good. Maybe cause he's not a D1 kid with a name. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But the kid threw some darts versus us.

played hs ball in holllywood. Chaminade and coach g did not have the horses to beat sta i dont care how many times Lakeland beat them...i think folks get it twisted as if Lakeland was or still is some regular team....they have consistently put belt to *** to south florida teams INCLUDING this year. lol

Chaminades best teams talent wise wasnt with COACH G in my opinion. IT was likely the last group that left and sta and them didnt meet up those 4 years.

Nobody should be surprised that Chaminade beat STA.
They SHOULD beat STA. They're more talented at every position.
I mean, shoot, even we were up 15-6 on STA in the 3rd, and we suck. 🤷🏻‍♂️
If you can slow down STA's running game, and challenge their WR's on the outside, you have a shot. That's how we were able to keep it close. And suffice it to say, Chaminade is better than us up front and at CB... and their offense is loaded...
So that game wasn't a surprise to me.

Biggest thing I've noticed this year in South Florida high school football is the lack of consistency week to week, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Being STA and allowing Chaminade to score 29 points and run the ball for almost 400 yards is wild to me... especially considering we just played them and they ran for 2.9 a carry versus us and scored 17. They're NOT a smash mouth running team. They wanna throw it around the yard. Like... how are you struggling to stop the run at STA? Doesn't make sense.

What also doesn't make sense is the defensive performances by Chaminade and Heritage on a week-to-week basis. At one point Chaminade was giving up 30.6 PPG. And Heritage has been booboo on defense all season. Their offense keeps them in games.

It seems like these guys aren't tailoring game plans for specific opponents. They are just running what they want to, a grab bag if you will, and letting the chips fall where they may. You have to figure out what your opponent likes to do, and tailor a game plan to take those things away and make them go to plan-B. If you know that Chaminade likes to run counter and trap, you need to be tailoring a game plan to defend counter and trap. All week you need to be working guard reads with your linebackers and spill techniques with your defensive ends. Make your opponent go to something else. And if they beat you doing that, then kudos to them. It just wasn't your night.

What I'm seeing this year is that the private schools aren't loaded defensively and they are actually having to coach. And truthfully, these schools still have P4 commits on every level of their defense, so talent isn't an excuse.

They won't take accountability though. They'll just say it's a talent issue and recruit more kids.
