We should thank Maria Elena Perez for billing the NCAA...maybe this was her plan all along....lol

Speaking of her, she spoke out today.
Perez, a UM law school graduate, said she did not work in collusion with NCAA investigators.

"I think this is completely insane," an audibly upset Perez told the Sun Sentinel. "I think there's absolutely nothing here to investigate, and like I told everyone, everything I did was above board."

She did say the NCAA paid her a small amount of money for her services, but did not consider herself a member of its legal team. They shared a common interest, she said without revealing it.

"At the end of the day, that does not establish an attorney-client relationship between me and the NCAA," Perez said. "It establishes that they wanted to pay for certain things to help Shapiro where there were issues of common interest. Period. There's nothing wrong with that. They didn't pay me to get testimony. They didn't pay me to get a story. There's a huge difference."
Emmert on Thursday said the NCAA's general counsel did not sign off on the use of attorneys representing Shapiro, who's a central target in the 22-month investigation of UM's past recruiting and compliance practices.

"In fact, evidence shows the General Counsel's Office specifically told the enforcement staff — on at least two occasions prior to any arrangements being made with the attorney — that they could not use Shapiro's attorney for that purpose," Emmert said.

Though Emmert said any evidence gathered improperly would be thrown out, Perez said the information gathered in the depositions were worthless.

"Michael Huyghue and Sean Allen couldn't remember anything," she said. "So there's absolutely nothing that they can glean from them. So I don't know how two 2004 examinations can taint an entire investigation that is so far gone at this point."
"I'm a spider and I play by the rules," she said. "And that's the only way to win. And in this case, I did nothing wrong and I was playing by the f------ rules and I am not bound by NCAA rules, and if they did something wrong, it is their problem and they are trying to make it my problem. This is not my problem."

Perez then questioned the entire process.

"I don't know what it's all about and I find this very suspicious," she said. "And I'm starting to believe they want intentionally botch this investigation for reasons I can only imagine are monetary."

She is going down for this she is admitting right in her statements that money was paid by the NCAA to help her client Shapiro- the main source of these allegations. She blindsided ALLen with an NCAA investigator who had no business being at the Depo. He got fired for this months ago . The NCAA IMO was prepared to cover this up until someone's shrewd attorney lifted the lid on their corruption. The let UM twist in the wind and take a second bowl ban KNOWING their investigation was corrupt. If I am the U its gloves off now.

How does this **** perez even show her face in S. FL??

Because our fans suck and South Floridans for the most part don't care. I am sure if some of them saw Uncle Luke on the street they gladly go over (suck his cack) and take a picture with a guy that openly s$hit on our HC.

Can anyone find a picture of this stupid c***? Her knowledge of the law is an absolute joke in her responses. An attorney client relationship is established when you give any advice for any legal purposes.

And it ****es me off that no reporter challenges the corroboration of the majority of that yahoo article? I do not trust no ****** reporter with an agenda looking to make a name with unnamed sources...****** made it up

I have a feeling Shalala is all over this. It would serve both to just say Miami already paid with two bowls and the ACCCG, along with the length of the investigation penalizing recruiting and public relations for almost two years.
