Here's What Concerns Me the Most About 2013

Im not convinced that we have a kicker on the roster.

I have not seen anything from Matt Goudis that would lead me to believe that we can count on him in any kind of critical situation. Even when I saw him at the Naples high scrimmage he looked like doo-doo. And keep in mind that he was kicking towards high school goal posts (which are 6 & a half feet wider than NCAA posts).

Other Options??

There was a local cuban kid who was supposed to walk on. I remember reviewing his film and being extremely impressed with him. Can anyone tell us if that kid is still going to walk on? What's his name??? Even as impressive as he's been, its extremely difficult to transition from HS to college as a kicker. I've often felt that the toughest position to transition from HS to college is kicker. Im hopeful that this kid can come in and, at a minimum push Goudis, if not win the job outright.

Thoughts???

Miami doesn't have a reliable kicker? Good.

When Miami is within 40 this year, I'm thinking TD or bust. Hopefully Coley is as well. I'd like to see a ton more aggression, so if it's 4 and 4 from the 30 they should go for it every time.

Yeah, it's always great when your team doesn't have a reliable kicker. You know, so when it's a tie game and you manage to get to the 30 with 2 seconds left it's awesome to not have anyone to rely on.

I get that you want to be aggressive, but not having a reliable kicker is NEVER a good thing. Sometimes a good kicker can be the difference in a game. Don't believe me? Talk to some FSU fans...

I also think we will miss Dalton Botts more than most realize. Hopefully the transfer kid can be decent.

Again, we NEED a kicker.

Does anyone know about the cuban kid from one those spoiled little dip**** high schools in south florida. You know, Belen, Westminster Christian, Gulliver, etc..

D$ - Whats this kid's name? And is he still coming?

Yes, I know a reliable kicker is important. Obviously if it was a tie game, I'd want a reliable kicker.

If Goudis isn't it, then Morris will have to lead the offense on more TD drives. They offense better be scoring a lot of TDs this year.. The Defense is suspect at best.

That's all I'm saying.

His name is Pat O'Donnell he is already on campus and he can punt the cover off the football. The kid is a beast at 6'5" 222lbs. The days of worrying about any position while the Don is at Miami are over.

His name is Carlos Huerta, and I believe he played a bit for us already.

I agree it's an unknown and therefore a concern, but if kicker is our biggest problem then color me optimistic.

I still think it's the DL but if Porter and Pierre stay healthy and improve even just a little, I think we'll be ok. McCord needs to take the next step too. If those three guys do their part, I think Chick will have less of a load and be the guy he's supposed to be.

I'm eager to see how a guy like Earl Moore progresses and if guys like AQM and Bond can come in and excel at their specialty.

Perez is his last name, can't remember his first. And the kid from Cincy is all punter I believe.

I agree with a couple other posters. I am much more concerned about our defense at this point.we need to stop the run, prevent points, and giving up less than about 400-500 yards a game. We make some improvements on D then we been be concerned with the kicker. Not saying we are fine at kicker, just not my biggest concern.

I though Matt Freixa from Columbus was walking on.
