Miami still very much in this and I have it over 50%.

Not even close to Henderson situation.

Finally a real insider!!!! Thanks Pete and Merry Christmas to you and your family and thanks for all you do to keep us informed.

A heavily recruited local recruit at a position of need at over 50% chance? Certainly look like a dogfight. History is not on our side on this kind of battles. Can this staff change it? We will see.

Rumph can't change **** I don't understand his issue . If McFarland ace isn't smith Dugan and rumph need to Dive out of town

I think they both go together. And I don't see how any offensive lineman wants to play for UF.

They aren't a package deal, and Herbert is definetly leaning Florida

If rumph close on those we need to start looking another coach . Let's hope this power move works out for us. If he losses both that's concerning

As much as it would suck to not land anyone from AH, that's not what Rumph is here for. He's here to coach CBs, as long as he can do that and hold the players to the UM standard, I'm fine. With that said, I do believe we close on Slaton.

Rum is here to recruit too. You don't hire a guy to specifically coach CBs and not expect him to recruit big too. On top of that, a HS coach who can't deliver his own players is unprecedented and an absolute abomination and a crime against humanity.

This!

I really don't understand how people can't grasp this concept. Look at what Kool does - coaches his units to an elite level and pulls in studs all at once. Not expecting Rumph to go out and snag 5-stars from all over the country. But to at least get players from your old school would be nice and I don't think it's asking too much.

The difference being that Kool has been coaching the Dline in college since 1996. He's got a track record of putting guys in the NFL.

Rumph is in his first year as a college coach. Yes he was a successful High School Coach, yes he was a 1st round pick in the NFL, but that only gets your foot in the door with these divas. We know he can coach technique - he's got to learn how to recruit on the job.

Call them what you really want... You know you want to. Hopefully recruits see what some of these so called fans really think of them and all the handwork they put in during their childhood to be in a position to get a free ride to just about any halfway decent college they want. Yea theyre divas alright.

I really can't believe y'all let a troll ruffle your feathers yet Pete's been consistent about our chances for a while

What do I want to call them?

just out of curiousity why would a cb coach be expected to sell oline men to come here just because he was there hc in highschool? he won't be coaching them in college, that's searles job.

u don't come to a college to be on same field as your old hs coach. yes he can help them recruit u but in the end kids know who will actually coach them and rumph isn't coaching oline, yes he should be able to land db targets and if cb recruits aren't coming then u start to worry but I won't hold not getting oline guys against him.

I wish guys would let go of the DeeJay's ace thing... Whoever it was is gone. I really don't follow Twitter but I bet he hasn't tweeted about it in ions has he? If he had an ace still, he'd be poppin off about it again but he's not because whoever it was flew the coop.

Gaytors just got a 4 star OL so not sure if this has any impact on Herbet decision.

UF in in a roll right now! They are going for a clean swipe of Miami recruits. Unreal..

Has nothing to do with any reporter? Like I said it's common knowledge in the recruiting scene he's most likely going to UF.

Pete must be out the loop on the " recruiting scene "

I think He was just being hopeful at the time. He even said that him saying Slaton and Herbert were both coming was just a "feeling". And Pete has been on point lately no doubt, but he's been wrong plenty of times, im not going to take his word as Gospel. Unless he guarantees 100% they're coming then I'll believe my own research and knowledge over someone's hunch any day.

Ok... What's your "research" telling you on Harley?

Imagine they get all Them cats and Harley they would pretty much steal our closing class. U can forget about next year if we can't block or do anything

I posted this before -- at some point you have to win with what you got or re evaluated the way you recruit.

I'd like to believe it's Smith but I fear it was probably Holloman. We need to wait until after signing day to judge but with our needs and the opportunities, we shouldn't be struggling to pull in WR's, CB's and then the whole thing with Tre McShîtty. I do think Harley chooses us over WVU and no way he goes to UF.
