Head Coach Candidates

Whoever we pick must be able to adapt to the current NIL era and whatever is coming. Coach L said it in his presser, college is becoming more like professional basketball. If we're going to compete at the top level, whoever comes in needs to manage the roster accordingly.

May I ask why not?
Painful to watch during his Alabama tenure. Like, horrifically boring basketball. Tony Bennett-esque with worse results. Tickets were free to students and I went to maybe three games. Not going to pretend I’m watching a ton of Dayton basketball but looks like not much has changed other than the one outlier season with Toppin.

Five coaching candidates I would like Miami to go after:

Ben McCollum - Drake HC

Anthony Grant - Dayton HC

Chris Caputo - George Washington HC

Sean Miller - Xavier HC

Frank Martin - UMass HC
McCollum? Yes

Grant? Eh, he’s worth considering but wouldn’t be at the top of my list

Caputo? Deserves to be considered, but I’m not sure he’s ready for a P4 HC job

Miller? YES

Martin?! **** NO

I would like an explanation of that Alabama stint sandwiched in the middle of VCU and Dayton. He was the hottest name in the country 15 years ago.
I mean he didn't do that much worse than Gottfried or Avery Johnson.

Alabama just recently (over the last few years) started investing in their Basketball program (in modern terms), so it’s not like they had a ton of NBA talent.

Before Nate Oats, not a lot of Coaches won there.

He's done a pretty good job at Dayton winning nearly 70% of his games there.

His Bama stint was over 10 years ago, it's a little unfair to still hold that against him.

Especially since CBB was a lot different back then than it is now & it's not like Bama was paying for top level BBall recruits in the same way they were for FBall.
