Hartline new osu oc?

You’re right maybe lashlee can get him to be a decent system QB for him as he’s the only OC to get some type consistent play from him, but imo he’s just not all that good of a QB, we’ve seen him under another coaching staff @ wisky n by all accounts he couldn’t even really separate himself from the backup there smh I personally ain’t gonna scapegoat the coaching staff for him looking like 💩 here.
Can't disagree. I think TVD's problems were mainly between the ears. He has all the tools

Randy Moss is generational. Calvin Johnson is generational. I'm not ready on Jeremiah yet.
I agree with your comment on this. When we say generational is it based college and pro career? Or we doing generational for pure college level?
Randy had it, especially after his early turbulent college career before he got to Marshall.
Calvin was way better in NFL than in college. He had good numbers in college, but would have been better if he had a QB throwing to him. We know that's what happens when Reggie Ball is your college QB. Basically scramble around and chuck it downfield.
Where does Larry Fitzgerald fit in all of this?

Aside from the obvious extra year experience, Harrison had CJ Stroud at quarterback. Smith had Will Howard. Harrison is a fine player but he’s not the athletic freak that JJ Smith is.

To me it’s comparing Harrison Sr. To Andre Johnson.
I don't think Dawson or any OC can change a mental block.

Elite used to be the term for sustained dominance or otherworldly talent. Now it is just used for projection. The term has been degraded, but to answer both of your questions. 1- Generational can be used for either or both. Bo Jackson got hurt but he was still generational. 2-Larry Fitzgerald was a really great WR certainly one of the best in my generation.

Do we have any generational mopes and slurpers on here… you know, truly elite at what they do?

Remember they said the same thing about Chip Kelly that it would fail. Which is cap, you give someone a top three roster they will look like they know what they are doing.
Facts if they didn’t hire Chip they wouldn’t have won though. Sometimes I wish people that talk about OSU would actually watch them because Day is not a good play caller

Watching our fans ***** about Dawson and watching Day call plays was hilarious. Yall would have lost your ******* minds in 2023

Elite based on what?

If they were Elite, the Coaching staff & the fanbase wouldn't be clamoring for us to add another WR in the Portal for Spring.
I mean elite as recruits which is what I thought you were referring to saying we wouldn't ever get elite South Florida recruits as long as Harline was at Ohio State.

Ohio State was on Toney pretty hard early in his recruiting process, and I think they got the clear message he was staying close to home.

No one is saying any of these cats are elite now @Alex_Dynamix

TVD pretty much couldnt read defenses not much to work around lol you can try n keep him to one read but once defenses took that away he was cooked, not sure what u wanted the OC to do at that point other then bench him(which he essentially was) TVD also hasn’t figured it out anywhere else either so not sure that’s an indictment on Dawson.
There are quarterbacks in the NFL that struggle to read defenses. If you’re a quarterback coach and your quarterback is having issues with certain coverages, do you just throw your hands up and say “oh well?” When you’re calling games on the sideline and you see the defense is played by a coverage that your quarterback is struggling with, you call plays to attack that coverage. The whole “TVD just couldn’t throw against zone” argument is hard to believe. The dude never saw a zone coverage until his third season in college? Find the problem, make steps to fix it. That’s what good coaches do. Anyone can coach players who don’t need coaching.
