Hamilton out at FSU

Caputo to FSU
🤣🤣

Nah. Not a good enough job for him. His next job will be Miami or a high major basketball school.

If things go as planned with the roster, he’s gonna have GW at the top of the A10 next year. If that happens he’s gonna be the hot up and coming name with interest from destination schools.

Apparently we’re not good enough either according to the board 😕

Not sure why, but there are many folks who seem to think that the fsu job will be more coveted than Miami. Not sure if it's because of Nike or because of the horrendous season we're currently having, but that's what some are saying.

Was expected. There was talk over the summer that he was pondering retirement. Then with the whole NIL fiasco and suits that followed, it was only a matter of time before he'd be a goner.

Expect a lot of the same names we've thrown around here to be in the mix for their opening. Bucky McMillan is from that part of the country and a name to keep an eye on. His dream job is Bama but if he gets Samford to the NCAAT again this year, he could very well end up in tally. In addition, depending on which direction administration wants to go in, CY Young could also get some consideration along with Stan Jones.

In the end the attractiveness of either job will come down to one thing only; money. Whichever program is willing to devote the necessary resources to coaching and NIL, etc…will be the more coveted job.

With the new policies coming, things are tuff all over, but especially at FSU. Doubt there financial position is a huge incentive to Caputo or others at this juncture, versus Miami or others:

That's interesting yet confusing. I don't think Nike has the influence (brainwashing honestly) it once had.
I think the talent within 60 miles of Coral Gables is still better than a 60 mile radius of Tallahassee.
Tallahassee is closer to GA but kids in the ATL haven't been going to Tallahassee over Auburn and UNC.
I think that is a fan trying to show support for FSU, which is what they would say about my comment regarding Miami. 😂

Two ways to look at this:
The Good.
Coach Hamilton is going to finish what he started unlike Tony Bennett and Coach L. I wonder if the NCAA will put a new rule in that if the HC quits prior or during the season, you get an extra year of eligibility. In this day of college sports, don't be surprised when it happens.
The Bad.
Another HC job opening not just in college basketball but also in the ACC. The ACC needs to get some younger more energetic coaches and we are seeing the transition.
There are only so many coaches who can rebuild your program and have them in the NCAA tournament in 2 or 3 years. A lot of things have to go right for that to happen.
As crazy as it sounds, FSU might be the spot where Will Wade lands.

No surprise, we all knew this was coming with the player lawsuits and the out with old NIL landscape. What this really means is Miami has added competition for a high end HC going forward.

Basketball coaches are city people much more than football coaches.

Miami is a far more attractive job unless we get cheap.
