Hamilton out at FSU

Apparently we’re not good enough either according to the board 😕

Caputo would insist on the resources it would take to win but he isn’t a prima donna (and hasn’t earned that status… yet)… but he sees Miami as a perennial 2-3rd weekend program and absolutely wants to be here.

Two ways to look at this:
The Good.
Coach Hamilton is going to finish what he started unlike Tony Bennett and Coach L. I wonder if the NCAA will put a new rule in that if the HC quits prior or during the season, you get an extra year of eligibility. In this day of college sports, don't be surprised when it happens.
The Bad.
Another HC job opening not just in college basketball but also in the ACC. The ACC needs to get some younger more energetic coaches and we are seeing the transition.
There are only so many coaches who can rebuild your program and have them in the NCAA tournament in 2 or 3 years. A lot of things have to go right for that to happen.
As crazy as it sounds, FSU might be the spot where Will Wade lands.
You may be spot on with Will Wade. Tally is a college town. He’s in the Deep South. He’s a guy that recruits Fla, Ga, Alabama, MS, Louisiana. Tallahassee is within driving distance to all of that. It’s his footprint. In the end, I do think money will play a huge role.

It’s going to be Loucks
In state guy but lacks the experience. Unless they keep Stan Jones by his side, I don’t see how fsu give the job to an inexperienced coach like Loucks.

Don’t think people realize how green Luke is as a coach. 3 years ago he was a glorified ball boy. It’s within the last year to 18 months that he’s begun to move up in the coaching world. Would be one of the quickest climbs ever if he were hired an HC of fsu.

Basketball coaches are city people much more than football coaches.

Miami is a far more attractive job unless we get cheap.
You’d be surprised how many HC’s out there prefer the small town college lifestyle compared to the big city. Some guys don’t want their families in the city environment. Other guys feel there’s way too much to compete with at a place like Miami. Everybody ain’t a city slicker. If you’re not familiar with the landscape down here, they’ll eat you alive. Schools in cities like Miami, LA, NYC need big name guys like the Pitino’s and Calapari’s. Dudes that are larger than life in basketball coaching circles. More the reason why I believe our next head coach has to have the name or the experience to be able to navigate and win here.

I suppose we’ll see who is more serious about college athletics.

FSU was more serious about baseball. Rad, you’re on the clock.
